Got all my supplies in place for the next week, and thank goodness! The temps are a dropping and the wind is a blowing! Wind chills for the next few days negative 50 to 60 degrees. Yes, that right, below zero! Minnesota as closed all school statewide for Monday do to the wind chills and negative temps. Going out to check on my animals only!!

All I can say about this weather is... It's freezing way up here in the northland. Stay warm and think summer. My camper is hurried under the snow but I'm still thinking camping. I'm way up north.

Sewfrenzie, what part of Minnesota do you hunker down in? I live in the SE corner on the Mississippi. I have a daughter that lives in Eveleth and they get the kind of weather that you are talking about. We were there on the 4th of July once and saw SNOW.

At one time I lived both in Montana and North Dakota, I can relate to what you are saying about the cold. Brrrr. I do not miss the winters out your way. My daughter lives in Minnesota and she tells me of the cold. She hates it and is ready to see a break in the weather. Stay warm . Hugs, Mary

I'm not looking forward to the next couple days of wind chills in the negative either hear in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Besides the buses not wanting to start in those fridge temperatures the school kids will not be waiting for a bus that isn't coming. They haven't announced yet what they will do about closing or keeping our local schools open but we are supposed to get freeing drizzle so that could keep our schools from opening. Stay in and warm.

Now that is really cold. I would not go out for anything. How are most of the homes heated? I heard that there is a shortage of oil in the northeast. Happy Stitching!

I can't speak for others but I heat with natural gas. I used to use oil but gas is cheaper and cleaner.

sewfrenzie by sewfrenzie 06 Jan 2014

We heat with wood first, while on vacation we heat with gas.

I have seen the images on TV. I can not even imagine to living under these circumstances. The weather is gone crazy. I my part of the world we are worried about not enough rain and a water shortage.
