My first ever towel holder try! I love it - I got the potholder at the dollar store - not sure where the design is from (sorry). The kitchen towel was a Target markdown. It is a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law. I have one more pot holder and can't decide to make one for myself or one for a friend. I rarely make anything for myself - do you find that to be the same for you?

Laura,
I would like to make my own embroidered pot holder but dont' know what stabilizer to use or how to hoop it. Could you give me any tips?

I see this is your first post, so Welcome to Cute. You will find so much help here and you could just go searching all these sections to see many beautiful ideas. Sorry I have not made pot holders as yet, but someone will most likely help you out with suggestions...hugs Kezza.

Here is a you tube on how to sew the towel onto the potholder.

For the design I hooped tear-away stabilizer and I just held the hot holder where I wanted it. Once the design got going well - I didn't have to hold it anymore. When it was done - I just attached the towel to the pot holder like it shows in the youtube video! Good luck and Welcome!! Hugs, Laura*

Love your towel holder. Make few more and keep yourself one. That is way it works here if I need while I am making several of something.

Great job...don't you just love the potholder as the towel holder...Sweet! I can't bring myself to do the other ITH holders...because I just love having a potholder on my kitchen towel...I rarely grab for a potholder...but I always grab for a kitchen towel to take things out of the oven...Kills two birds with one stone...

Oh, thank you, Kim! I am with you - I love having a potholder close by (attached to the kitchen towel, no less!). Plus - this is way so easy to make! Hugs, Laura*

Very cute! Never seen one made with a pot holder before. Where did you find the instructions? Keep up the good work!

Oh, Glenda - I got the idea right here on Cute!!! There are many made in Projects - you use the fabric tab as a button holder and sew on a button. The towel is gathered and machine sewn on underneath! Easy to do!! Hugs, Laura*

....or you could use velcro as a closure...for me it is much easier to get off the oven handle when I need to use it...especially taking something out of the oven...then it "hooks" right back on in a flash...I fumble with the buttons and some of the small loops on some of the potholders...I sometimes add a button over the loop closure just for the effect...
