In the next hour or so, I will be sending out all of the information about the Secret Santas. To make this truly a Community activity, please add to this thread so that your Santa has some hints about what you would like to receive.

I'll start it off by saying I'd like something quirky and unusual but not Christmassy. My favourite designs come from Urban threads and for a gift I would like a bag or something useful for my sewing room.

Sorry! Just waking up to the fact that I need to get into the swing of xmas.... I really have no preferences at all. I rather like the idea of a complete surprise so no matter what it is I will be thrilled.
Many thanks to Sue for organising this again and to my Secret Santa for her effort and "surprise" xxx

I know it is the middle of November but is it too late for me to do this with you all. I live in the United States if that helps at all. Thank you Sue and if not this time, maybe I can do a swap later with all of you.

The name that I have has not posted but she did a very good job of stating her preferences in the initial signup so it really isn't necessary for her to post here, and there may be others that feel that way too.

I don't think that past SS should be revealed because sometimes you get the same one that you had before. Maybe your last SS can answer your question by sending a message to Sue and perhaps she would be kind enough to forward it to you.

I like potholders, pincushions, knit or crochet hat scarf and mittens or gloves, I can use some knit or crochet slippers size 8 American, can use ornaments for our tree. I'd love a mug rug for my coffee cup. There isn't much I don't like. I like most any colors, blues and reds specially. I can use a fat quarter of childrens prints for my charity work. As you can see this is my first time so be patient if I ask for the wrong thing. Thank you,

Please, excuse me to answer here so late; since the end of october I was by my grandson and greatgranson in the island "la RĂ©union"in the indian ocean, I come home only yesterday.
I should prefer something that I can use all around the year, for example towel for my kitchen, my kitchen is white and blue, or cushion cover (40X40cm, or 60X60cm) for the sofa in my livingroom, the sofa is darkred, or a bag to put one of my many works. I like flowers designs. But anything that my secret santa sister will choose for me will please to me.
Thank you very much Sue for all what you do for us for this exchange.

Hi
Sue has embarrassed me to fill in the secret Santa form. I find this very difficult as I can truly say I have. never had a present I didn't like!!
When the world is open you often get things you may not have looked at yourself, then grow to love them.
I love sayings and flowers.
Hope this helps a bit. Sorry I am hopeless but I do honestly like most things
love
Scottie

Apologies for the delay in filling in further details. Life is very busy at the moment and I have not had time to visit for ages. Thanks again Sue for arranging this excellent exchange. Right - I love many of the Urban designs as they are so different. I would prefer not to have a Christmas themed present as its lovely to have something to use throughout the year. I don't like cutesy cartoony designs. I love browns, yellows and reds. My kitchen has red in it. I like sea themed designs as I am so close to the sea. (Sometimes too close) Book covers, cushion covers, bags and something that I would not produce myself would all be great gifts. Anything made for me by my SS Santa will be brilliant and much loved. PS if you live close by can you come and help as the dishwasher has broken and I have been busy with the day job all weekend? That would be a brilliant help as the kitchen is awash with dirty mugs from the coffee and tea that has kept me going while I have worked. That would be a very good present for me at the moment. Right now I need to go and get ready for the day job tomorrow. Bye for now and hope to be back here again soon

Something that can be used throughout the year would be nice.I hate dusting ,so dust catchers are not a go nor anything black.Cheery colours are the go.
I can't really think of anything else ,so it is up to you to surprise me,maybe it will be something other form of craftwork besides embroidery & sewing that you enjoy doing

First of all, I thank you for undertaking this huge task again :)
I like classic, old- fashioned items, but also like funny stuff.
My kitchen/dinette area is decorated in Delft blues, my living room is paisley greens, my powder room is accented in dusty rose and forest green. I'd love table runners and towels for these areas.
For personal items, such as totes, etc., I prefer browns..
Thank you, Secret Santa.

Thank you , Sue for organising this. This is the first year I am taking part in it, so this is exciting! I love suprises and will be happy with any present I receive! I like useful presents but I also like decoration, ie something that could be hung up. I like angels, butterflies, animals, the colours of the rainbow, it can be sewn. quilted, embroidered or FSL. It can be something Christmassy or it can be something that I can use all year round. I would love a handbag (with lots of different sections in it so I can Keep my things organised in there) but I think that is too much of an ask. Hopefully one day I have time to make it myself. Otherwise I small clutch purse for going out would be great, ie purple with butterflies fabric, simple yet useful. Again anything will be happily received. This is exciting! Thank you! :)

Thanks so much for emailing me Sue, you really are a champion.
For me, something "specific" would be full sized or doubled over kitchen hand towels, dark colours, even brown or Christmas colours would be OK, just please not blue.
My favourite hand towel is a brown one with a button down top that hangs over my towel rail, when I'm cooking I often button it onto my apron tie. (it never looks dirty hehehehe!)
Otherwise, ANY gift a friend chooses for me is always appreciated and valued for life.
Hugs n roses, Meganne

Hello, I like bright colors, no Christmassy item, and would like to use it year around. I am not into items you have to dust. I love items that make you laugh. I can use potholders, dishtowels, pin cushion, or anything you come up with. I also like animals, birds, and flowers on design of fabrics.

Hello, Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I think I would like something to display in my home but I am not picky. Prefer "Christ"mas over Santa decorations. I love the smell of cinnamon and evergreen in my house at Christmas. I collect Nativities. I have over 25 ranging from teeny tiny to covering the mantle and from FSL to wall coverings. I love being a Texan, a mom and grandmother and a US Marine Mom. Daisies are my favorite flower but I love most all flowers. Hope this helps. Becky aka workbecky

COME ON everyone
Sue has over 100 SS on the books but less than thirty of us have taken the time to let our secret Santa's know what we would like for Christmas
It's difficult to give a gift that will be used when you know nothing about a person, what if we make a gift to then find out that the person has a horror of the color you have used or has a 100 of the item already.
Please Please will you take just a few minutes to help poor Santa out.
and join in making this great Secret Santa year

Thank you again Sue for doing this another year! You do such a wonderful job with it!
I am pretty open as to what I'd like. It can be Christmasy or not, and religious or not. I will leave that up to the Secret Santa Sister to decide what she prefers to do. Either way I am sure I will love it!!
I also like Urband Threads designs, lol! My kitchen is blue and white as well. I have wood floors in the dinning room, and browns in the living room. My sewing room is beige, and the bedroom theme is wildlife I guess (such as deer, bears, wolves, fish). I made a quilt for our bed with that theme. Our motor home is mostly beiges.

Hello! First off - I want to thank you, Sue, for once again organizing this for everyone, I'm sure it can be quite a bother at times. Is that an understatement? :-)
I'll join the majority and vote for non-Christmasy items. I prefer something that can be used or at least viewed daily to remind me of my SS's talent and generosity.
I like anything from Urban Threads Steampunk, to Martha Pullen Heirloom and most stuff in between (eclectic and then some 8-).
My kitchen is blue and white, family room done in earth tones. My sewing room (my FAVORITE room) is done in pastels (once you work your way through the clutter, LOL).
A table runner, napkins, tea towel, hot pad, mug rug, OR sewing related "stuff"....... would be warmly welcomed!
Thanks Sue and my Secret Santa!

I would like something for my sewing room, something practical not decorative, maybe a cupcake pin cushion or a thread catcher, maybe a sewing machine cover done in japanese style fabric, these are the sort of things I would do for myself if I had time

Good idea to help people with ideas -some are easily stumped and others have so many ideas that they still can't make a decision :) Its really good, I think, when people suggest something specific they can use. It's interesting to see how many people like something they can have out or use all year round, too. I'm also one of those :) I like things to be a bit useful, too, as I'm not into dusting/dustcatchers at all! I love things that are humourous/funny or even downright peculiar, as it gives the recipient a laugh and the rest of us also something to enjoy when the photos are posted. Thanks Sue, as always, for taking on this mammoth challenge yet again :)

Greetings from Minnesota. Thanks to Sue for organizing this swap again this year.
Like many others I would rather have something that I can use all year instead of Christmasy. Something for the kitchen would be nice (I have more coasters than I will ever use) but I love surprises so I'm sure that I would be happy with whatever my SS chooses. The gift that I got last year was very nice so I hope that my SS from last year is here.

Hi all...I just love the Secret Santa exchange...thank you Sue! As for me, I would not want anything Christmassy...I prefer something I can use year round...anything sewing or quilting related or for the kitchen would be super...I am not fond of green, but do love country blue, peach and ivory...especially together! Also, not so keen on FSL things...I am more along the line of tea towels, potholders, pincushions and scissor holders...things I can use and fondly think of my SS in the process...

I like functional things I can use all the time. As I have a 16-month old girl Lily, any baby item would be greatly appreciated too.

This is my first year doing Secret Santa and really enjoy all the projects everyone makes. I don't care what colors are used or designs and since I'm not much of a sewer, I appreciate anything pieced or sewn. Angels are probably my very favorite. I like to be surprised.

Alternatively I adore totes. in any color I have never been fussy with co-ordination so any color or pattern is fine.
only one thing I am sorry Sue as I forgot to say I am allergic to cats so if you have any please get a friend to wash the item and pack it for you or let me know in advance so my daughter can do it this end.
