My Christmas table topper was done in two parts using design positioning on my Ruby, I was so chuffed it matched perfectly, now I am making another just to make sure I didn't fluke it. The design positioning on these machines means you can make anything as large as you like. So my next project will be a large table cloth for my daughter - she has already put in the order! The design came from Kath at "Sew This & That".

Lovely project. The design positioning on the Ruby is indeed foolproof, I love it, it makes life so easy. I haven't tried combining more than 2 designs, but a large circle is on my to-do list.

Yes I am impressed with it and one of my to do list items is to make something quite large with several hoopings to see if I do as well with the positioning.

Yep it scared the daylights out of me but now I feel comfortable with it. Have you done anything really large with several hoopings?

If you have a diamond then you can do this design in just one hooping! Get it out and get started! Thank you for your comments!

Certainly a project to be proud of. Do you have that special 'cutting needle'? I thought I would like one, but it was advertised for $75 so then I thought I didn't like it quite so much!!

Yes I have the cutting needles for cutwork designs, have used them on several designs and they do make the job easier and results are great, but do take into consideration that not all cutwork designs have been digitized for the needles. Try looking on ebay often you can get things there for your machine at a reasonable cost, someone bought something and then found they didn't use it like they thought they would.
