Looking for suggestions please.... A woman asked me to embroider "something" on a plain hot pink sweatshirt for her. When I asked what she had in mind, she said "oh, I don't care, just something to dress it up". I hate when people do that - ask you to do something for them, then leave it to you to make all the decisions about it.

So my question is, what would you Cuties like if it were your sweatshirt, and what thread color(s) would you use on it?

Thanks for you help!

My brain would go into melt down. How can you possibly know what would appeal to someone else without any guidelines. Sorry that wasn't very helpful, just sympathizing.

Well, I guess I'd say "you don't have to pick the design, but do you want it fancy, or funny, or with flowers, or a saying....give me a hint, or you'll get a CAT!" Right this minute, I think a kind of swirly redwork-like flowery motif would be pretty, especially if it were almost tone-on-tone, that would be elegant. But tomorrow, who knows, probably Bill the Cat, hee hee hee. Best of luck, Marji

Tone-on-tone, or at least as close I can get to it, may look very nice, as you say. Now to decide the motif....

I love applique on stretch material. I also hate it when someone says - do what you think will look nice. So difficult to choose for someone else.

Right - very difficult, as you want them to be happy with it, so I worry that I won't pick something they like...

My mother does this to me. Most recently, she handed me two shoulder bags and said one was for herself and the other was to be a gift for a niece. Only one bag has been completed.

I think I'd do some one color flowers in a color a bit darker to show up.

Hmm, almost like a tone-on=tone, but not quite? That might look nice, since it is such a bright color to begin with, and she would be able to wear it with whatever color she chooses. Thanks!

Look through your designs and see what you like, then if she doesn't like it you get to keep it. Hot pink I would think something floral

That's what I was thinking... but hot pink isn't a color I would generally choose for myself. I look washed out (pale) in really bright colors, although I do like them on others.

Floral designs are always good. Now, what colors would you make the flowers?

I would embroider "SOMETHING" on it in big beautiful fancy letters using a very bright contrasting color.

I couldn't help it. I hate it when people do that to me too! They don't care what you do until it's done then they have an opinion.

Hahahahaha... That is too funny!!! Yes, I should do that!!! But I am not that devious, so I'll have to do a proper design for her.

Hee hee hee, love it! Sure is what I'd be tempted to do, but I'm such an old baddie I say "bring it back when you figure out what you want". Hugs, M

Oh, Marj, you are soooo smart. I'm going to try to remember this.
