I have fibro as well. Yes, the more natural foods, no sugar, and for me no gluten, eggs, and a long list of other things that are food allergies or sensitivities. I take Vicodin, sometimes other combinations of things for the pain. Massage helps, if you can afford it (I can't), chiropractic helps, but Medicare won't pay, Cymbalta was $100 per month co pay on my Part D, and it made the pain worse instead of better, and it's been worse now for several months even after I stopped taking Cymbalta. Apparently that doesn't work for everyone. I guess the lesson is don't be stressed and get a flare up in the first place, and certainly don't get old and expect any kind of help. And get used to everyone saying, "But you LOOK just FINE....." and not believing that you hurt, or can't do something. And once you're diagnosed, might as well also get used to medical people blaming everything that bothers you on the fibro, even if you have a compound fracture and bones sticking out, hee hee hee. They used to call us crazy, now they name it fibro, but still don't know what it is, or why, or what to do about it. Best of luck to you, if you find something that works, let us know. As long as it's free, that is, I guess, because once you're on Medicare, the only thing your Part D covers for the "co pay" they tell you is aspirin, apparently. My best advice, don't get old, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji

I'm glad you said they use to call us crazy. They gave me the state test to see if I was crazy, I'm still sane and the pain is still here. LOL

I told my doctor 30 years ago I had pain in my neck and shoulders. He said you can not have pain if there is nothing physical wrong with you. So now they have a name for it, fibromyalgia. Thats where I carry life's ups and downs. I have done nothing about it, just live with it. I also have a niece that has it, she has been doctoring for many years with little success. Please tell me the secret to get rid of it!

My aunt and a school friend both struggle with it. My aunt has tried every drug known to treat it with little change. My friend has adopted a natural/organic diet, no sugar, no fast food and has had quite a bit of success with it. She said she has good and bad days and has learned to rest on the bad days and to live life to it's fullest on the good days
