Well I have finally finished my king size (ugh) quilt that I will give to my sister and brother-in-law as a thank you gift for hosting our big family reunion at the end of this month. What an undertaking, it is huge, reversible and this being my first real, totally embroidered quilt, I am very pleased with how it turned out. 1st pic is the right side, 2nd is closeup of stitch out and 3rd is the reverse side. It has 143 (8 1/2 inch) blocks and took me about 7 weeks to complete. I used the ''sew as you go method'' which is great but very heavy to work with. This is a surprise for everyone so I hope they love it as much as I do. I decided to give myself a pat on the back for this job lol,

thanks for looking
hugs
Michelle

For the non quilters, what is a " quilt as you go " method, and also , did you quilt this on a special quilting machine ? . It is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing .

STUNNING! Although I don't like these colours, (more of a blue/purple person) it's turned out beautifully. Love the quilted central design in all the blocks too and congratulations on doing a Quilt as You Go method. I've not done one of these, but I believe they are much faster. Love and blessings Chris

You deserve a huge pat on the back Michelle this is a fantastic quilt! I am not familiar with sew as you go but I think I get the idea(how does it work?) & yes it would be heavy to work with but you did it! What will you make for yourself? Don't forget to make the label too, hugs Loralye
