I got a couching foot never used one before. I then drew a design to go with it and also used reg embroider foot and came up with Mr Peacock. What do you think?

Spectacular result! Seems like you had lots of fun coming up with this wonderful guy! Are you now addicted to couching?

Thank you and it was fun I just grabbed up couple yarns I wanted but got a feeling the glimmer pile is about to grow so in answer to addiction ..... Yes, I am working on simple design for GD to put on shirt but I think it will be neat. About to try to stitch it out.

Scroll on down pictures shows. But I will try explain and I am sure Mops would could much better. I had never used one before. There was a kit when I picked up my machine so I got intrigued and it came home. As looked in store I noticed you can use design "embroidery machine or by free hand. So best done like more open design and one line type area done with yarns that fit into the hole in foot. One scroll type design and a piece of yarn came with it but I had to try design. See below it may help you see better. I know I do better with pictures. Hugs Mary

This is how I made Mr Peacock
Image 1 is yarn guides
Image 2 Where I place yarn guides
Image 3 poly yarn like many make boas with
Image 4 I pulled out some yarn placed it in yarn guides as shown leaving yarn in back of machine pulling yarn start to front.
image 5 These are feet I got in kit one with small hole one with larger you choose the one close to yarn size and that flows nicely.
This one I picked smallest hole.
Image 6 This is a needle with a loop to catch yarn
Image 7 You then push needle in the top of foot then attach foot to machine.
Image 8 You get thread to match lol I grabbed mix to go with mix here and thread machine as normal
Image 9 Ready to add hoop and go
Image 10 This is where it starts is as Mops said simple lines. I zig zag here and you set your machine on the slowest speed it pulls the yarn and sews it to these lines. Note I trimmed beginning loose areas away. You can tell. Once color one done I took off the couching foot and put on embroidery let it finish there is jumps with all the color circles but easy to clip. If any interested let me know. Hugs highlandermom
