I WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO POST PICTURES OF PEOPLE AND THE GUATEMALA CULTURE...SO I AM STARTING WITH KAIROS HOUSE....THESE ARE SOME OF THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE SOME FORM OF CANCER.....MOST ARE TERMINAL..My hubby and I are going to try and find fund raisers for this missionary family....They are trying to raise another 200,000.00 (que?) to buy a permanet 16 bedroom place to help these families and more....right now they are cramed into 4 bedrooms (I believe). there are 52 people and most of the adults will sleep on the floor just to stay near the children or hospital where their child is...

1: Pastors wife with Perscilla and her son...We were able to raise and extra 1500.00 american dollars to give to them....They told us they were praying for some m oney to help pay for exrays-testing-and appointments for one of the kids below...We all were intears knowing it was GOD's hands in this timing...

2. a child within the home who has cancer...

3. a mother with her baby who has some form of childrens cancer I believe...

4. a picture of a few more of the children within

5. one of the older children there

6. a father with his child.

7. 2 more children..The little girl seemed to be the one who was the worst off....she finally came over with me to color..didn't speak but enjoyed the coloring books

8. One of the mothers...

9. 2 more of the children...the young lady has a tumor in her spine and is unable to walk....we helped lift her in the chair so she could be in the Prayer circle we formed....They were the ones needing money for her treatments....

10. anoither set of parents...

Even though their children were all in some stages of cancer...the families were sooo sweet and smiled and the children seemed to be happy within their home....alot of the families that go there live up to 300 miles from the hospital...Kairos house is just about 4 blocks from it....It is heartbreaking to have to turn people away, so people ask just to lay on the floor or a chair just so they do not have to sleep on the streets where it is unsafe....

THIS IS THE PLACE MY DH wants to work with...We have asked if we could somehow start sponsering the children one by one each month like we do the kids in the schools...I am hoping that the Pastor can work out a sponsership program so that each child will have s sponser for as long as they are in Kairos house...this will help with food, toys, medical treatment/appointments or clothes if needed, medicine that may be required...

Thank you for sharing this with us Deanna. You and your darling husband have a wonderful gift and the best part is that you are using it for the right reasons. I pray for your ability to continue to do His work and and would love to do something that you could possibly take back with you next time?

They don't have much room...we took beanie babies coloring books/crayons, bed sheets and hot wheel cars this year...last year I did puppets and animal hats for them...

I was thinking of little aprons for crayons or play for next year...books in Spanish maybe animal bookmarkers...I am really not sure...I think though dh and I may just do the fundraisers to help buy the new home they so need...

As I am sitting in my air conditioned room and look at these pictures it is a good reminder how much we take for granted. I am glad you were able to go and share these pics. Is there any way one can help? Please let me know.

like I told earlier we are going to be working on ways to help them...I think our church has an address for this missionary out of Florida where the funds can get to them without being taxed heavily...

May God continue to bless you and your husband as you continue to work in His name. I can see love and hope in these children's eyes. Not everyone can do this sort of work Deanna, you have a special vocation in helping others. Love and blessings Chris

Our church is getting bigger and growing...more people are starting to get involved so they are thinking 2 times a year instead of one....dh said they got to see more of guatemala last year than this time because of transportation so next year about late april beginning may we will be going again.....I really am glad i got to see Kairos house, now I know what they need and what works in their place....

Thank you for sharing these pictures of these beautiful children and their loving parents. I am grateful you are willing and able to help them. Please keep us updated on their progress of providing sponsorships. I know not all of us can afford to do that but their are other ways to help out I am sure.
