These are credit cards holders for your purse or wallet. I used to wrap my credit cards in aluminum foil so that thieves could not read the data. I used mylar for these pieces and hope to find a device to test to see if the data is hidden. I did have to do regular sewing to put them together. Thanks for looking.

They are very pretty!
Let me know what the bank says.
Make sure the card is very close to the metal as too much space can increase the ability for information to be collected. The metal can act as a amplifier if the space is more than 2-4 cm...so no more tin cans.

I think capoodle is right take it to the bank to see if it works or if the tinfoil like Jerri said will de-activate the card I have heard this also. As well not to put the black strips back to back & the information will become compromised. good luck. please the results either way!

These look great. If you have ever used Stove Top stuffing mix, you will notice it comes in a foil coat paper bag. I have kept some of it to make some of these. I would like to test it also.

thanks for sharing.

great minds think alike. I have candy wrapper bags from a ways back. I got a terrific deal on an entire roll of authentic balloon mylar.

Be care if using tin foil to wrap the cards, it can de-active them. You can now buy little card holder cases that are meant just for protection of your cards.

hmmm, as you can see on the bottom of the stack, I have been using a triple folded heavy duty aluminum foil. Did not even think it could cause a problem. Heard it was a cheap preventative measure. I would rather make one than buy one, howver I did buy a case for cards and the clasp does not work, so I need to make a case for the case. Lol!

Jun 18, 2013 -- These are pretty and useful too. Too bad we have to go to such lengths to protect ourselves today. But capoodle has a good idea about inquiring at the bank to read the cards. I hope the mylar does the trick. Nice work!

They are pretty colorful with the mylar. Hope it works and read that a Galaxy smartphone and a downloadable app. can use that phones antenna to read the chips in some credit cards. Wonder if a bank has a reader that could test your holders for you.
