Cushion cover for my GD

Made from left overs and some test stitch outs from her projects.
This my first attempt at joining squares in a quilting manner. My joining strips leave a lot to be desired and I think it would be easier to work with less slippery fabrics. I used the scraps of her mother’s wedding dress for the strips because I did not have enough left over from her own projects to make it big enough for her cushion. The centre block is her little mascot, Shadow, that she has had since she was 3. When I showed it to my friends at our sewing morning, they said it wasn't finished unless I put a label on it so I used one from a set from Mad Woman of Locke Street.

Very lovely keep sake. She will have a treasure to remember her visit with Nana.
Do you remember where you got the Canadian flag from?
Happy Stitching
