Three little whimsical flowers. Freestanding and made in the hoop using applique. First hoop two layers of Vilene in your 4x4 hoop. The bottom layers of all three flowers stitch first. You don't need to change thread colors, but they do stop so if you want to use different fabrics you can. I use two layers with fronts to back so both sides will look nice. Next the centers stitch. I just usually stitch the top side. But, you can try to place the fabric under the right place if you want. All three circles will stitch, but they are programmed as different colors to allow for fabric changes. Now take the hoop off and trim the center circles and the outside of the flowers with applique scissors as close as you can to the stitches, but do NOT cut any of the stitches. Replace the hoop. Next the centers will stitch the satin stitches. Next the outside satin stitches will stitch. Do all your fine snipping. Remove from the hoop, trim away the Vilene and soak the designs to get rid of the stabilizer. The more you run water through them, the softer they will be. Have fun! Jan

I missed this the first time. Glad someone brought it back up. My granddaughters just got a "re-do" on their bed rooms, new paint and new bedding. Now I will get to work with new accent pillows. This design is perfect. Thank you for sharing. Kay

I see these as scissor fobs - put an eyelet on one edge, sewn or tiny grommet. I love these.

I think you could easily turn them into hair clips :-) The third one is just a little smaller. I"m glad you like it. They are fun!

katmug by katmug 17 Apr 2013

Thanks Jan. My initial thoughts were hair clips . ALso thinking they could work as add ons for clothing . You are very generous and the third being a little smaller is helpful too! THANKS SO MUCH!!! :)
