Let it Snow! I spent the day embroidering out 26 different snowflakes for Sandy Hook, only to find out that the Connecticut PTSA has announced that they are overwhelmed with snowflakes and have asked that no more be sent. Guess they'll look good on the Christmas tree next year!

Your snowflakes are beautiful. I made a few and was getting ready to package them for mailing yesterday, when I read the post about them not accepting any more. I am so pleased to see that they will take them after all!

Message about SNOWFLAKES FOR SANDY HOOK COMMUNITY. PLEASE READ
Hi everyone,
After reading about disappointment of not being able to send our lovely FSL Snowflakes to the Memorial..I wrote a letter last night to the PTA...Here is the response I got. I have sent another note asking if there is something specific we need to put on our packages and haven't heard yet...When I do, I will post it in this thread.
Here is the reply:

Please send your snowflakes. If you have worked that hard to create them , then I will glady share them with our Sandy Hook Family,
Thank you,
Annie Baldarelli

Oh! How nice! It takes so long to make the the snowflakes and I was disappointed in not being able to send the ones I made although my son is enjoying them in his room.

A beautiful set they are! Mine went in the mail before Christmas so I hope they can use them.

My thought is to send some to the parents, brothers and sisters to keep as they will last a lot longer than paper ones.

That would be a great idea especially the ones that were not paper.

These are lovely and we appreciate the time it took you to stitch them all out. Your tree will be beautiful with these on next year.

I just finished mine last night too. I takes a while to stitch them out. Probably school teachers had their students make snowflakes before Christmas break. That's what teachers at my school used to do. I can imagine thousands of paper ones showing up.

well it looks like many of us made them & for me I think that I will use them in another way maybe to stick inside Christmas cards next year since I have made them already! This way they will still bring good cheer to others in a much smaller way of course! they are lovely!

I'm thinking since so many folks have made snowflakes for Sandy Hook and now need to do something with them as they are not accepting anymore that all schools should display them in January! Get together with your schools people and make this happen as a show of support from all of us who feel the pain!

I'm sure these would have been some of the most beautiful snowflakes they would have received.

Your snowflakes are beautiful. It was so thoughtful of you to do this for Sandy Hook. Like someone else said, maybe your local elementary school would love to have them for their tree. I know our school has a tree in the lobby of the school and in each classroom.

They look beautiful and will decorate your home next year :o)
Where did you read that they don't need more snowflakes? Haven't seen this on their webpage. Thought about sending a link to emblibrary cause they still have their text about sending the snowflakes under their free snowflake.
Greetings, Bettina

Very pretty - that is sad - I have a bunch, too. I bet the ones they have received have been paper and not embroidery.
