I didn't know what section to put this is as it's a question but it's also about embroidery but seemed to fit more in chat lol

I am going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks, we go every year as we can get a ferry 40 minutes from here and they do special deals in the winter/spring. The food on the ferry is great and we love shopping in Amsterdam. Does anyone know of any craft, sewing, embroidery shops there? I have seen a lovely fabric shop but we came across it on the way back to the hotel one night and it was closed.

There's a lovely quilt shop, Den Haan & Wagenmakers, situated in an old house on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 97. Have alook at there website.
I have not been to the centre of Amsterdam for a long time although I often drive right through the city, so I can't recommend craft etc shops.

I love going in the other direction: IJmuiden-Newcastle.

Have you tried to Google it? That would usually yield more information than I could wade through in a short time. Gerryvb is from the Netherlands, perhaps she will come along and help. ;)

Have found one on Google, more of a home and art shop but worth a look. We only go for the day which sounds mad but we go overnight on the ferry and get about 7 hours in Amsterdam. Every other visit we stay overnight in a hotel but this time is the short one lol
