3Nov12- Well, I'm sitting at the library, along with a lot of other people, checking our mail and scheduling bills. No power since Monday night, and they are saying at least another 10 days to 2 weeks! There were a lot of trees down across roads that took down wires, but all that has been done is to cut them so cars can get through. There are many, many power trucks-that we see out in parking lots and on major highways, but I think they feel we are not under water, so we can be last fixed, yet again.I have yet to see one in my township. 8 days with Irene, and 11 days last year's fready snowstorm. It's cold and dark, gas is being rationed! Half the stations are not open due to either no electric or no gas. You'd think they would at least truck it in and make it available. Even if they keep jacking up the prices. Second birthday in a row for me in these conditions. Boo. Can't even go to work and be warm, because they don't have power either. And if I don't work, I don't get paid. Insane, is what it is. Every time you think you are at least holding even, the floor drops out from under you again. I'll be back sometime.'Jo

7Nov-sitting at my friend's house-warm and clean for a while. Home is still no power, they say maybe next Sun. Now it's down in the 40's,snowed some today-the Nor'easter is coming in. Nw Jersey still has major trees down, and hardly a truck in sight. If they would spread them out a bit so you could see some progress, it sure would help those of us going broke buying gas -odd or even days according to our license plates-to keep the generators going, if we have one. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. They mean a lot!

I am glad you are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to you that they will quickly get the power back on and that gas will be available soon. Hopefully disaster aide will help with some of the expenses you are having and the loss of income from this terrible disaster.

I know how you feel. We lost power for 9 days during Irene and it was a struggle. This time we lucked out. No power loss but we made preperations for it. They can not jack the prices of gas up. That is gouging and they can pay hefty fines for doing that. Me heart goes out to you. Been there too.... Suzanne

Jo, you are so in my prayers! There is so much devastation from this storm! I am glad that you are alive, well, and have internet. Plan to celebrate your birthday after this is over! I know it isn't the same, but you still received another trip around the sun. ;)

I know what you are going through it is not an easy situation, I remember Hurricane Andrew, we were without power fpr about 2 months, I see the devastation in NY and Nj and it is so bad, and now a cold front God will take you in his arms.

I have been watching the coverage and it is beyond bad-I am so happy you are safe. I heard the government is sending in trucks full of gasoline so hopefully sooner than later that will improve. Also, I think FEMA is starting to appear along with red cross for food and water. Last I heard churches where coming in to help clean up and feed etc.
The devastation is so far and wide its crazy. This morning I thought I
was looking at an area in Jersey and it was South Carolina- they couldn't get ambulances to people in need due to downed trees and and sand. The ambulance guy actually had a saw so he could get past
the trees to emergency calls. Last I heard death toll 100 and climbing
as they are stilling pulling bodies from Staten Island.
The bright spot in all this is people coming together and helping
each other. I will continue to pray for you and all in this disaster.
Warm hugs for you on your birthday and a toast to a better next year.
Praying for all in this unprecedented disaster.

Our prayers are for you and all those affected by the storm. I cannot begin to imagine what you must be going through. Please try to stay calm. There really is nothing you can do until the power comes back on.I don't understand why there is no gas and what gas there is they must be asking an arm and leg for. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope you come through this well. God be with you.

Jo, I know you are in a hard time now, but at least you're save. I is not easy without the comfort of gas, electricity,..and other things. But this is temporary. Even your birthday; you can celebrate it later. We all are happy to read YOU are doing okay. Take care.
