Ryan's birth sampler and cardigan.

I made this cross stitch birth sampler for my new nephew, Ryan. It was hand stitched on 11 count white Aida cloth. I made both items before I found out that the baby was a boy. The cardigan was made with 4 ply baby wool in creamy/yellow then I added the blue buttons once he was born. Hope my sister-in-law will love them.

I used to have a sweater very much like that when I was little; same color even. :)

Just lovely...for me it would have to be a machine cross stitch file...I don't have the patience I use to have to do cross stitch by hand anymore...but, I'm a wild woman with machine cross stitch!

Beautiful work. Here in England we would call that a matinee coat.

Thank you. So far its only been for my kids and in-laws that I have done the birth samplers for. I think grandkids will be a way of. *

Both are beautiful. I love the birth announcement. I made one for each of my Grandkids. The pattern on the sweater is adorable also. I wish I could follow a pattern
Good job on both, you must have sensed it was a boy.
Hugs Jerri

Thank you. I bought the birth sampler on line and the name of the design is Ryan James. When I found out what the baby's name was going to be, I thought that must be an omen and then my husband rang his brother to say congratulations and everything his brother said that they were tossing up whether to use James as the middle name but then changed their minds to have it as Michael. We are going to give it to my in-laws on Sunday and I am going to take the packet to show them because they are not going to believe it otherwise.

Wow that is quite the story. Funny how things go sometimes is it? It was just meant to be the one for this little gue. My Grandson's name is Ryan also with middle name William. Looking forward to a picture maybe of him wearing your beautiful sweater.
