Calling all Janome 12000D owners, please.

Now that this machine has been around for a little while, what do you think of its performance? - is it as good as the dealers say? Are you having trouble-free running? - or is it a white elephant? - can it still do the 4 X 4 hoop designs which are nice for kids things or is it mainly for the big and giant hoops? -thinking about trading in my 350E but it is a very big step so would love to know your experiences with the MC12000D

Thanks, cuties, for all your flowers for my question - so far, the only people who have told me how great the MC12000D is are the salespeople and I noticed there is a dealer in Victoria (Australia) who has been advertising it on ebay for way below the reccommended price without getting any bids for last week or more - can anyone please tell me if there is much difference between the Baby Lock Ellisimo and the Brother Quattro2? - the ads I've seen about them both look very impressive

The Ellisimo Gold would be like the Quattro 2. I have the original Quattro and love it. The major difference between the two will be built in designs (disney vs not disney). Otherwise they will be pretty much the same. Go with the dealer you are most comfortable with and that will give you the best price and service after the sale.

Don't have it, but my Janome dealer doesn't really seem that impressed...they said they were actually surprised that some of the features that they thought were good on the 11000Se were not available on the new 12000...I don't think they have sold very many...I have looked at it very carefully (I had an 11000Se) and I don't think it is worth the price they are asking...I ended up getting the Baby Lock Ellisimo (which is fantastic and is full of exclusive features no Janome has) and I paid less for it with all of the ups and extras than I would have paid just for the Janome 12000...so for me...no sale here. I went through three new 11000SE machines with nothing but trouble and finally got a refund and bought the Baby Lock Ellisimo.

thanks for your input - I think it is one thing for a machine to have lots of bells & whistles and another for it to function well - a saleslady gave me a very short demo of a design that was about 2& 1/2 inches by 1 & 1/2 when I asked to see what it could do & she did give me the square of fabric to take home; the design was a simple one but when the fabric was rested for a few hours the fabric became more puckered around the design instead of less - might have been the hooping by the demonstrator, but was not impressed for such a basic design on a new machine to not stitch out well - so am hesitating a bit re this machine

I can tell you from my experience that there is absolutely no comparison between the Baby Lock Ellisimo vs the Janome 12000..all the "bells & whistles are on the BabyLock..and they all work spectacularly!

Hmmm, Wonder why the Janome dealer would want to demo such a small design...perhaps because a larger one would not stitch out totally without a problem? Just sayin'...
