Ok cuties, What is a good site to find sewing items for sale. Such as embroidery software! I have ripped apart my house a few times and cannot find my installation disk for my 3D software. Looks like I am going to have to repurchase another one. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks for all your suggestions and "Hugs" ! I have and am trying them all. Can't imagine not being able to embroider anymore, it was always such a dream and I felt blessed when I was able to purchase my machine and it included the software! I am really missing it! :o(

Don't worry. Right after you buy a new one, you'll find your old one.

If you need to replace the software then consider buying Sew What Pro or Embird.
Sew What Pro is an editing and conversion program for designs.
Embird basic is also and editing program and conversion.
You can buy Embird Studio plug in if you need a digitizing program but wiil need to purchase the Embird Basic Program too.

Neither programs require a dongel.

Both programs are much cheaper than the 3D, 4D or 5D programs.

yes, I am also considering doing just that; looking into other programs and going that route.

Check first with your dealer, They might replace the software. It is the dongle that is the hefty price.
I know of someone that had her software replaced due to damage to the disk.

So sorry to hear this and it will probably turn up the minute you have repurchased another one. Sarah.

Join "SewItsForSale" yahoo group. They have had the full suite of 4D for as little as $500 with the dongle and all the programs. If your are looking for just 4D Extra it would be even less. No sense putting any money into 3D at this stage of the game, the upgrade to 4D was $1,000 and then the upgrade to 5D was another $1,000. And you can use either the Pfaff or Viking versions, they are the same.

I doubt if you will have much luck finding a used 3D. Most everyone I know "traded in' the 3D when they upgraded to 4D as the dealers were giving some trade in value to it-I think just for the reason that we wouldn't sell the 3D. They are up to 5D now and I am still using the 4D as it is so user friendly and does everything I want to do. Good luck finding your disc-if you are just needing it to put it on a new computer could you just use one of those computer to computer cables(sorry I don;t know what the real name it!) and transfer it to your new computer?

I think she had work done on the computer, lost the program, now can't find the original CD.

Check with your Dealer as if you do find a used installation disk for the 3D version the dongle that you have that came with your lost 3d software may not work with another copy of the software.

The other options are to find a used copy of the software with a dongle.

Would your lost instalation disk be in the box that the saoftware came in originaly?

Did you have the full 3D program which includes the digitzing etc?

If you just had the Customizing part of the program you could replace it by buying Sew What Pro or the Basic Embird program and neither require a dongle.
Both edit designs and convert design formats etc.

Which embroidery machine do you use this for?

This one is called 3D sketch, and comes with a Wacom tablet, no dongle. It's just up, will be on for 6 days, only $89. I don't know if this is the same thing you have or not, or if your dongle will work with it.

3D sketch is an add-on program - it's included in the Pro version - you need 3D Embroidery to be able to use it as it is not a free standing program.

Ouch! Ok, if I'm not mistaken, haven't they come out with several updates, that would make 3D outdated? Perhaps someone might have the older software for sale on eBay, craigslist, somewhere like that. If you can't get it cheaply, maybe you'd want to think about updating, or going with another software such as Embird? Do you actually digitize, or use the software to change, combine, etc.? New stuff always has a learning curve, though; I know I'd hate to have to learn new software at this point. Best of luck to you finding what you need. Are you sure it's not in a CD music case under the seat of one of your kids' cars? I feel so sorry for you!! Hugs, Marji
