Serger Thread Embroidery.

I used serger thread for this test because I wanted it to look more old fashioned than shiny embroidery thread. I had no problems with the stitching. Design is from A Vintage Touch. The designs are awesome.

Very nice work. I remember hand stitching this design on teatowels in the 1960's while I was traveling to work on the steam train. I had half hour journey each way so worked on my hope chest. Hugs Joyce

I learned how to embroider on stamped dish towels, with these designs! How quickly they can go now. Much easier on the fingers. Very pretty.

Looks great will give it a go . Reminds me of the 6 dozen tea towels that I hand embroided in the train on my way to work back in the sixties for my hope chest. They have wiped many a disn in the last 47 years of marriage. Joyce

That's nice! I love this old fashioned look.

hagridsmom by hagridsmom 15 May 2012

6 dozen??? you must have had a very big hope chest! have you used all of them yet? were they kind of in sets with similar designs, etc? I am fascinated by this as you can tell.

oigelcox by oigelcox 03 Jul 2012

I purchased them with the designs stamped on ready to embroider. I also had books of the iron on transfers to add to linin myself. Joyce
