:( Needle breakage from jump stitches just wasn't enough! I haven't been able to embroider 1 thing today, not even one stitch. The machine will not pick up the bobbin thread and when I moved the wheel to lower the needle I heard scraping. So I took out the bobbin casing and lowered the needle again - the needle goes all the way down to the metal under the bobbin holder. Sent a message to Singer but they haven't contacted me back. No machine service in my area and will have to ship it off (if that is what I have to do) and I can't afford it ($45.00 one way) so guess I am done with embroiderying for who knows how long - so much for my fundraising. Thanks for letting me vent - now to curl up on the couch and just cry for a while. It always makes me feel better - hope it does this time. Thanks for listening. ~ Sherry ~

Just a thought. If you have taken your bobbin case out to clean your machine, check that it is in correctly. Hope you find your problem soon.

Thank you cuties! I have tried and tried but now I think I am just to frustrated to even see clearly. So I am going out to play with the horses and feed them and when I come back in, after I get cleaned up I will try all of this again. I changed needles 3 times and still doing it - so we'll see after I take a break from all of this. Hugs to all and I'll let you all know how it goes. Keep the prayers coming ..... thanks!!!!!

I have a real dumb question for you. Did you, perchance, happen to put the wrong kind of needle in to it? I had that happen with my machine once and come to find out, I had grabbed my serger needles and put one in. It was too long, and messed up my machine. Just for grins, try changing out your needle, and make sure that it is seated all the way up in your machine. While you are at it, give it a good cleaning. I hope it helps.

Sherry, I will be praying for you - try everything that you can think of and check your manual, too.

Oh My! You are in a fix! Moonwillow does make a point...no pun intended... With my newest machine, I had a difficult time getting the needle in all the way up to where it should have been....so....after a pierced bobbin case...I now work harder to get it up where it ought to be and screwed in TIGHT!

Before you give up definitely try what moonwillow has suggested. Give your machine a good clean and oil and check for any burrs on your neadle plate. If you have burrs you can gently file them away with some emery paper or an emery board.

I have a singer futura quartet if that helps.and it sounds like the needle needs to be pushed up more

Had the same thought: needle might have slipped down a bit when you changed it.
