Bookcover

I punch some felt from the back on the flannel, then embroidered it with one of my own appliqué designs.

I've never tried felting yet, but judging from your work, it certainly can produce lovely results. This is both subtle and beautiful. Very pleasing for the eye.

Wow that is that is so cool! You seem to make exactly what I need, and do things that I want to do, I like experimenting and felting is one thing I have not done enough of! Love it here! Also, Is that poinsettia? I have a project that needs a base. May I have your design to see if it will work for this 3D project? The base I thought would work is too small. Thank you

It's not a poinsettia, it was just a phantasy flower I digitised over a year ago for an evening outfit for my daughter - see http://youembroidery.com/13226_wr...

Seeing the amount of leaves you already have you'd be better off placing them on your project where you want them, them stitching them done by embroidering a flower heart only - you could even choose a small applique circle.

done = on, sorry

All the leaves have eyelets, so I thought I would put them on a thread stand type setup and glue a middle on top. The eyelets are quite large. I think this design is DBC, I think I should find it. I like your idea of only using a few per element, inspirational, thanks!

cfidl by cfidl 29 Mar 2012

I think it is gonna work for this project whichever way I go, great design! Thanks

cfidl by cfidl 29 Mar 2012

Nope too small. I will find the perfect base!

shirlener88 by shirlener88 29 Mar 2012

that isn't a base - in this design - it looks more like a center - to cover all the work that you do with the leaves and petals - behind it - in my opinion.

This is a great use of that embellishing machine! I really must get mine out and dust it!

You should, it's nice to experiment a bit with it. I've got a bag full of roving I bought in Norway, gorgeous colours, but I wanted to get a bit better before starting with those.
