I sewed and embroidered ALL DAY on Saturday, trying to get Madison's purse and sweatshirt finished. I had not realized that my family was going THIS WEEK down to visit...thought I had more time! What I really wanted to be working on, was this outfit for Marisa, but it came second on my priority list. So...about 10:00 pm...I finally had time to start on it! The shirt is just a RTW Garanamals tee from Walmart, that I embroidered...and then using the gingham seersucker print, made some matching capris. I wanted to make up this capri pattern as a test-fit. I called before starting to get her measurments (hard to do on a 21 month old!) and luckily for me, they fit her PERFECT! So, it looks like she will be getting a few more of these for summer...they were "sew" simple to make!! Getting an action shot was probably the hardest thing for me, but I put in a Barney tape and flipped over the plastic tote and said "sit"! And she did! She's the niece who was adopted from Colombia last year, to refresh your memory.

Kim, how 'CUTE' - I myself have missed Marisa's little face and was hoping that you would post a new picture soon - she is so sweet and I understand - when they are so busy - how hard it is to get a picture. This little outfit is so adorable. Thanks for sharing this with us, it warms my heart. *4U

She is a cutie!!!! I remember seeing her before and fell in love with her adorable face. If you don't mind me asking you, what agency did they go through? I'm looking into adoption choices. BTW, her outfit is amazing. You're a gift to these little ones. ;-)

Teri...I believe it was Bethany adoption services. My sister & brother in law are on the waiting list for another one! She is a real doll and toooo smart for her "britches"...or should I say "capris"! lol They waited a long time...but Marisa was well worth the wait, because she was the little girl just MEANT to be in OUR family! Funny...many people say how much she looks like my sister, her mom!

her mom is real fussy...I mean REAL fussy about her clothing...lol! I thought I was bad with my own clothes, but Jennifer tops me! Most of Marisa's stuff is line dried after washing. But that's ok...she waited a long time to have a little one to wash for!
