Has anyone renewed the membership recently? Have they started adding tax or a charge to use the credit card service? When I started the procedure there was 90 cents added to the total.

That's probably more a currency/conversion/bank fee thing rather than the cost of the subscription having hidden costs.
I only pay the advertised subs price but then the bank statement will have a different amount, according to the currency exchange rate on a certain day...... this is from Australia.
