Wow! How nice...isn't it nice to make something and keep it for yourself. I find my admirers getting all the things I made for myself. I have to learn to say, "It's mine."
Excellent job. I love I Spy Quilts and have made a few for children. They love them.
wow this is really incredable! you must be very proud & I can see why you would keep it
That's a lot of WORK!!!! I had a Great Aunt that made a quilt like that for the year 2000! I didn't get it when she pasted away or I would post a pic of it. One of my cousins got it. I will see if I can get a pic of it sometime soon. I'm sure it was great therapy for you. How are you doing since the surgery? God bless you, take care of yourself!
I was originally only going to add about 50 squares. It took me about 6 weeks to do the top. Thanks designcrazy
Wow, this is something else !!!! I would have kept it for myself too. And what a great thing to remember great times had in the past.
This is beautiful and I don't blame you for wanting to keep it. It's your therapy quilt and the memories are priceless. Juanita
OMG, that is a lot of work but the finished quilt is beautiful. Well done. (The close up photo shows just how amazing the finished one is). Great work.
WOW...What a Beautiful quilt. Lots of time spent on this one. Job well done!
What a great theraphy project! May you have a speedy and full recovery too!
Diane
Now that is a great idea. Keep a quilt for yourself. I know that anything that is 2000 pieces I definitely would want to hang tightly to it also. How did you quilt it?
very cool. i wish i could see it up close. great talent.
it is pretty big, as a matter of fact there are 47 rows & I had 47 staples! thanks Irichardson
I am in awe! It reminds me of Legos or some computer game, from a distance. And I too, like green, any shade-Toogie
This is awsome !! I have been saving bits of my favorite fabric to figure out what to do with it and it kinda gives me anida of what to do . Thanks foe showing it off and it is absolutely AWSOME!!!
Oh my goodness, my hat goes off to you! This is an incredible piece of art. I don't blame you for keping it yourself. That's alot of (beautiful) work.
wow .. this is wonderful... what a great heirloom for the family.
amazing amount of work. thanks for the close up, that shows more how it is. Great job
Very nice. A labor of love!! A couple ladies in my senior center sewing club have started making 1-inch patch postage stamp quilts. I cannot believe how fast they are coming along, but it all started when another person threw out scraps too big to toss. :) I really like your quilt and would like to make one some day too!
mine took only 1.5 inch pcs but you can (I have) make them any size that you want. I will say that it is MUCH HARDER to do it in such a small size fabric wise. I try not to be wasteful & I am also a fan of recycling. Swaps are good too.thanks justonlyme
I tis amazing. I wonder if something like that would be good for a stroke and/or seizure patient?
Well make one and find out then tells us all ok ???I think it would be great myself Shirlene?? hugs
well when all of the (6)Dr's saw me working on it @ (all @ different times)each of them commented on the therapy aspect of the quilt, not to mention lab & nurses too! But now it is difficult sometimes for me to search for too long.
I made a few of the I Spy Bags and gave a couple to my car mechanic for his twin daughters. One of the girls was Autistic and her therpist thought it was a great idea for these children. Now that I am retired, I may get in touch with the Autistic society and see what they think. I made one for each of my Grandkids and they spent hours playing with them. Great to take on a car trip. Kept them busy for quite awhile.
Its lovely but i can't sew on such stuff it makes me dizzy lol I think it is from inner ear problems i have but i to like green but****** your doing a great job hugs
this is a close-up shot sew that you could see some of them a bit better, they finish @ one inch each. You name it , it's probably in there as there are no 2 alike!
Oh up close i can look at it and not get dizzy lol in fact i love it and i see it is a lot of long hours work here.
That was alot of work - just finding the right fabric for each of those squares. Let alone the work that it took to make it.
lot of work but worth the effort well done inch squares and 2000 in the quilt marvelous!
Your quilt is a true marvel!! Your right the quilt does open paths in to the brain and congers up story lines. I see why you’re keeping it for yourself I would love to have this beauty!

The color isn't my color but your quilt is certainly eye catching and you can see that a lot of love and work went into it. Thank you for sharing your story on Public why you did the quilt. It is an inspiring story.
Love the color;color scheme reminds me of a modern painting I saw of the city,it had all the signs, roads n buildings! what's in this one? I can only make out shapes, flowers.
there are no two blcks alike! there is everything in this even Elvis! Lots of girly things like shoes makeup a blowdryer mascara lipstick, an initial for everyone in my family & the list just goes on Food candy......... you get it
