Congratulations on doing your first Grandbaby's Christening gown. Christian cross on the front bodice with tiny little lacey flowers, bows and hearts embroidered in the softest possible colours, is what I would do if I had the honour. Enjoy. *****

There are so many options, and I probably shouldn't comment because my talents are way way low on the scale compared to most people on this site. But....I like tone on tone - so white or pearl embroidery on white fabric, heirloom designs and a religious symbol on the front - that's the kind of christening gowns I favor. I would love to see what you do, if you would post pictures when you are done! I think those garments are so beautiful, in all their incarnations!

I had one for when a long time ago for our daughter. And on the front it had a cross. I hope you find something. And I am sure it will be beautiful. Good Luck. Peg

Tiny hearts and flowers - would be lovely on the color and bodice and on the skirt a large heart with lots of tiny flowers. I guess I like hearts and flowers. Hehehe!

Martha Pullen (Sew Beautiful Magazine) online site has exquisite heirloom designs. She has a lot of nice things.
