Anna Bove Embroidery advertises 100% cotton Tear-Away Stabilizer. I have not heard of this before so can anyone tell me if it is worth purchasing.

thanks

thanks for all the feedback, as I embroider baby blankets I will give it a go. Only thing is living in Australia it may make it expensive to get a roll here, can only but ask. We miss out of so many good bargains here.

I have used this stabilizer. One of my sit and sew buddies and I shared - this roll is 24" wide, and we had my DH cut into 12" sections for us, as 12" fits the 240mm x 150mm hoop just right. I had a problem with it at first, as I was using only 1 layer when doing shirts, and it was tearing away. I can tell a difference in the feel of the stitched design being so much softer than tear away, and it does tear away nicely. Great price right now, and it is a huge roll,100 yds long - that makes for a lot of projects. It's appearance is differnt, for it appears to have "nubbies" in the stabilizer. Now that I know to double up when using a dense design, I am happy with it.

Did you use the iron-on one or the non-iron-on?

the non iron on...but the other would be nice with the onesies I do - but not sure about it.

I have used the Sulky iron-on tearaway and it is especially great for onsies and other baby T's...or any stretchy fabric for that matter...it keeps the Tshirt from stretching when you hoop the stabilizer ironed on to the T...but don't know about this brand...

Put me on that list also, sounds kinda interestings. The paper kind cutaway and tear away seems to dull the needle quicker.
hugs and flowers to all of us with inquiring minds want to know.....

Add me to the list of 'want to know'. I think I read something on ann the gran website about using cotton sheeting for some stabilizing on knits..??
Has anyone tried this?
