6803Wrapping paper and gift card stores usually carry a fairly good selection, such as the Hallmark store or Greetings N More if you have anything like that around you. Beware though, that the colored stuff MAY bleed when it gets wet. Test a piece to see. The iridescent clear stuff won't give you that problem though. There are a few websites that sell it as well. I do not remember the name of the one that has so many varieties, but will post again if it comes to me.

I just checked and for one set of mylar at $3.45 the shipping is $1.50. That may be a little high, but it is better mylar than you will find at the Dollar Store, etc., which I don't think is for machine embroidery.

I think it would be worth it to get the quality stuff. Cheap is nice, but not if you have wasted all that time to have a disappointing project.
