I am not sure if this is possible but I will ask you clever cuties. I have a Brother 1500D, which is approx 1 year old. Ever since I have had it I have had trouble stitching out some of the Disney built in designs and (if possible) would like to get one or two digitised. I have limited access to technicians here and when spoken to they same it is error on my part. I had a Brother 1000 for 10 plys years prior to this one and had no trouble with that.

Any help will be appreciated, if possible to ditise if you can recommend a site.
Many thanks

My only other suggestion would be use an iron-on stabilizer. This way you could assure absolutely no shifting or stretching of your blanket. I would try on a test piece this way using a fabric similar to your blanket...or unfortunately, maybe on one of the ones that already has a problem design on it...at any rate..BACK TO THE DEALER when you can. I live 75 miles each way from my dealer...know your pain!!

If the machine was new when you bought it I would go back to the shop and show them what is happening. I presume that it was not reduced due to a problem, if it were my machine I would then expect it to be sorted by the shop. I live a 2 hour journey from my Brother shop and have excellent service from them and recommend them highly

Tryed to do the optical baby doll and it jumpsright in the middle of it and sews the skirt on top of the arm tried 4 times and the same thing every time.
makes me so n=mad when it does that.

I had a Brother machine that was a true lemon. After four major repairs on a brand new machine, they finally traded it for a different one. I'm very happy with it now. Did you buy it from a dealer?? If so, take it in and let them see what it is doing. You might get it repaired or replaced. The built in designs are supposed to be specifically digitized for that machine. I skip the outline part of the design when I can catch it in time though, since that is a real bugger. Good luck.

I'm with Marcelle..but if you are close to your dealer, I say take it in, sit down there and sew out the design there as a test. Maybe dealer can help determin what the problem is without having to leave your machine...could be just a minor adjustment dealer can make while you wait. If dealer has same machine on floor, try his with same design. If that works, use dealer machine to finish your gift and then have your machine fixed. Good Luck!

thanks, I know I will have to do something like you suggest. Only thing is that he is away most of the time and its an hour drive to get there, but it is no good how it is. It is only the designs with an outline round the design which is most of the Disney designs.

Those Disney designs are notorious for the outline shifting. The outline is a run stitch and they are very difficult to get to stitch where they are supposed to. you only need the slightest movement in the hoop and it misplaces the outline. I would definitely try Marcelle's suggestion, or use some 505 embroidery adhesive on your stabiliser.
And yes Disney is copy-writed and we can't digitise it. Sorry.

thanks. I have wasted 4 blankets and still not satisfied. I tried spray, even put solvy on top which is something I dont normally do on fleece, double stabiliser, just run out of ideas.

It is not unusual for outlines (registration lines) to be off. It could be the fabric you are stitching on shifting. Try using some sticky backing before hooping so the fabric will stay put firmly with no shifting. The kind I use is just lightly sprayed with a mist of water, iron it on the wrong side in an area larger than the hoop, then hoop the fabric. After stitching I can lift an edge of the backing and add a little water to gradually to pull it all off. It is more trouble but stops the shifting.

If the registration still doesn't stitch properly there may be a problem with the file. Can the design be used if you just don't stitch the outline. Many designs look perfectly fine without the outlines. If it must have parts of the outline like eyes, mouth, etc. you can use your 'advance stitches' option to go to the spot to stitch the absolutely necessary parts and leave off the rest of the outline. This method might get your gifts finished so you can wait until after Xmas to service your machine.

I am anxious to read what others have as suggestions for you. I always learn a lot of everyone's questions.

Hi Madrocki in what way do you have trouble stitching them out? Do they jsut not turn out or you can't get them to start stitching at all? I have the Innovis 1500D which my hubby bought for me and I have stitched out quite a few designs some being from the inbuilt ones. I have to admit I don't stitch out too many of the inbuilt ones now as I have found this great site, but I think when I first started I didn't have any lessons as I had a new baby and couldn't see myslef going off to classes and leaving her. So I know I used the wrong stabilizers and didn't know how to hoop properly and basiclally just didn't have the time to spare as I had a 2 1/2 yr old too. BUT you have paid good money for this machine and if the designs don't work then it should be looked at. I know you said you have limited access but surely the place that sold it to you should offer classes and LOTS of them. So it can be rectified. I truely hope you can fix the problem. Good luck!
Cheers.

I dont think it is anytbhing I am doing wrong. I have had a Brother for over 10 years and never had this problem before. The present one I am having problems with is Pooh & Tigger and the outlining is way off. To make matters worst it is for a friend. I stitched out 3 yesterday, used my normal method, (medium stabiliser hooped), then spray on normal stabiliser, I always do this on popar fleece but have used the same material for years. I never use solvy on top but may be today I will try it again. Otherwise I will have to take it back to supplier but I know it will takes weeks to get back and he always oput the blame back on me.
thanks for your help.

It seems very strange that the built in designs are not stitching out well. If you have only had your machine a year I would certainly get in touch with the store that sold it to you. Sarah.

thanks Sarah, was hoping to get over Christmas as I have a few presents to make and I know the machine will be away for weeks.

I am afraid that Disney figures are under copy right and we are unable to digitise them.
