Does ITH stand for in-the-hoop or is it a special type of embroidery? I feel stupid asking but really do not know the answer and you folks talk about it quite often. I have wondered for quite some time and this is all I can think of. Thank you, Barba

Thank you for asking this question because I have wondered everytime I see it. I also didn't know what TTT meant and now I have gotten the answer to both. I am learning all sorts of things on this site and visit here every night.

It's only a silly if you don't ask!!! We all had to start somewhere, and if like me, I started at home by myself. This site and all the wonderful cuties have been so much help and support and inspriation. xx

Dear Barba, you know I asked excactly the ssame question, and felt such an idiot when i realised what it was, so dont feel bad. we live in a world of acronyms and we forget sometimes that what might be clear to one person is not to another. I think the funniest one i had no idea about was ROFLMAO I didnt have a clue, until I was told it was rolling on the floor laughing my Ass off, go figure! anyway dont be afraid to ask here, someone always know the answer, cheers Ruth

Embroidery by machine does involve many new things even to a 'sewer'. Have you tried doing an applique design yet? This is not real easy the first time, but great results if you can get good directions.

Barba, see you have the answer to this question. We all started off not knowing the abbreviations. I even had a pad of paper next to my computer and wrote it down to remember. No question is stupid, ask as much as you like, and I'm sure there will be someone to help out.

If you have not done one before there are good videos in enbroidery library. They show you how it is done. That has helped me a lot as I would rather see it than read about it!

I did wonder what TTT was. I thought maybe thanks thanks thanks. That was all I could think of. I was way off on that one! LOL Thank you for the info

ttt means "to the top". We use it to bring a post back to the frontpage and 3letters are the minimum for a comment ;o)

No stupid questions - unless it is the one that you DON"T ASK! We all were new at this at one time or the other.

It means In the hoop. It is a design that usually is finished completly on the embroidery machine with little to no extra sewing involved.
Some involve multiple hoopings. Example are treat bags, purses, kleenex holders and on and on it goes.
Like anything you just have to learn.

Try to start with one that comes with good instructions to do your first project.

Thank you. Most of you know so much and the project pages are so full of beautiful sewing! I have a lot to learn even though I have been sewing for over 55 years there were never the abbreviations then. LOL
