I have just downloaded the Betty Boop design from SandraDee in YouEmbroidery. When I want to opening it, Embird shows this message: "File cannot be displayed. Probably it is corrupted or not an embroidery file". I have the latest Embird. Not a problem opening other .pes files. Advice anyone??? Thanks

Thanks to all of you. From what Bettina (ansalu) has written I understood that the file has the wrong extension, it should not be .pes but .zip, so I have modified the file extension in Microsoft Explorer and have been able to unzip in Explorer and in Embird as well. Now I have 9 files: 4 .pes designs, 4 .jpg color charts and a text file. Thank you all!!!

So happy that you get your designs now (and even something on top ;o). Wish you fun while stitching...

When I get that error message in the 4D software I have, I open file with Wilcom TrueSizer or Stitch Era and convert it to a different format. The converted file then opens just fine.

Sigrun has the right idea: There are 5 BettyBoop-designs. Maybe one of those will work ( I dl the 3x5)?

I have downloaded them all and they all open in my 5D.

Thank you, Sigrun. If you have downloaded "all of them" it means that the file is a zip file and not .pes. Maybe the 5D has the ability to open zip files with the wrong extension!!! Great!

Sorry Sigrun: you meant to say that you have opened all of them separately?

Clik on her name in youembroidery and there you can download all the Betty Boop files and open them,
good luck.

Thank you, Sigrun! I didn't know that there were other sizes available, otherwise I would have done it.

Now this is weird. I went and downloaded Betty Boop no problem as a pes file, but Martine's leave says file is missing. Go figure.

The leave downloaded now. Mysterious.

Thank you. I had no problems in downloading the file, just to open it in Embird because the file extension was wrong.

I have dl her BettyBoop 3x5 last december (wow so long ago ;o) and opened it without a problem. I open zips on my mac-desktop (have always trouble with the weekly alphabets from freebielover). Which size do you try to dl?

Tried it now and had to laugh: My download is not a zip. I got the pes unzipped right now 3 minutes ago. Very mysterious...

I downloaded this design last week for my placemat without a problem but now, like you it will not open. Unrecognized file is what it says, strange isn't it

Thank you, Michelle! I think that the designer has released the various sizes individually and now has decided to zip them all in one file, but somehow the file extension isn't correct, as it should be .zip

I tried to see what could be wrong but could not open it either. Renamed it and got the same message again. So I can't help.

Thank you, Martine. I have renamed it too, and it did not work, but it didn't occur to me that the file extension could be wrong.
