A while ago a cutie with an innovis 750D was asking about the bobbin thread coming to the top of the embroidery. I have changed bobbin thread which looks a bit thinner. Would that be the problem. Would I use the + or the - for the tension. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I use the pre-wounds from MetroEmb.com in both my borhters (780D and Quattro) with no problems.

I haven't tried pre-wound bobbins yet. I would like to try before I buy so many.

I have Innovis 2800D, not two years old yet and was having the bobbin thread coming to the top of my design on the last part of my Family Tree picture...took my machine in as it was due for check-up and they found there was dust in the bobbin case behind the screw so there was no tension in the bobbin - all is well now. I had been doing work on a fleece quilt a while before this project and think that is probably where it came from. Do clean the shuttle but didn't think to check the small areas in the bobbin case...

I am going to try another design today. I wasn't thinking design as it was a bought design from a popular site.

I used to have terrible problems with my rather ancient Bernina, it got so bad that anything with writing I could not use as the bobbin thread always came to the top. Since trying pre wound I have had no problems. For me they are magic. Sarah.

i also have an old bernina (decco) and had this problem then used pre wound bobbins and it was ok but the prewound bobbins do not work on the brother as i stated the only thread was the special brother it is much finer than the several others i tried...soozie

I have a 750d and it had the same problem. I found I have to tighten the tension screw on the bobbin casing probably ONCE A MONTH. Was told this machine vibrates a lot and it comes loose. It is easy to do and now works perfect. Try this link or PM me. Lyn. xx

When I had a Brother machine I was told to only use brother bobbin thread. I did try another from a reputable business but the machine DID not like it. Maybe a call to the dealer or a service would help to solve the problem. hugs Helen

I use a Janome machine and it is very particular about bobbin thread. I had some thin thread and, no matter how I adjusted the tension, it showed on the top. I use Janome brand bobbin thread now and have no problems.
