What is your favourite stabilizer?

Being new to M/E I have tried a few stabilizers.Solvy is my favourite for top of towels.
I need to buy more stabiliser but I am in a quandry about what to buy.
Any suggestions would be of great help.
Thank you

Hi Anne, I love solvy, but it is so expensive. I would run out every other week. Well I found out I was over stabilizing. I got a big roll of badgemaster and I think it is great! no more 12 inches for me! 1 layer for FSL? yep!. I still use super solvy for topping, I also use cotton hydro stick, because I can't use poly(medical reasons) which I got from abc-embroidery! And I still have sticky tear away from solvy which I use small pieces for backing and when I need sticky hoop!

Anne, Sarah is so very right - we each have what we use - so that becomes our favorite. You will get many answers here.

I love to use 'Sew N Wash' in the 20" x 25 yard size - but have bought it in smaller and larger bundles as well. I do have a love of lace - so I use this WSS that is mesh looking. I also like a light weight WSS that looks like it is plastic wrap for a topping for my towels and a tear away for the embroidery work on back of towels. I use a mesh looking cut away for my T-shirts (in both black, white and nude color - depending on the T-shirt) and a paper looking cut away for many of other embroidery work that I do. I have a great soft cut away for my baby items and a iron on that I put on after the embroidery work - to keep the stitching away from the babies skin. The only brand name I know for sure is for the WSS, only because I was looking at the label earlier tonight.

You should find stabilizer to be a very personal thing - what works for me - may not work for you.

Keep on stitching. Shirlene

Hi Anne, My favourite has to be either iron on tearaway or medium weight tearaway. Living in South Africa our makes are very different to what you buy. I think that you will get loads of answers, everybody having their personal favourite. Sarah.
