The flowers are from Embroidery Library...I do believe, the writing, MORNING GLORIES came from some free designs (I'd have to look these up again). I like the little longer flap on this one.

Good job!! I found another pattern, McCall's #3136. The other one I mentioned earlier was McCall's# 4794. kkcogle, yours looks better. I like the flap longer because it gives more room for a design.

thanks! I actually embroider a piece of fabric, then cut the flap out. That way, I get the design where I want it! One thing I don't like...is following directions. I like to do things MY way...that's why I think I like making my own patterns! I'll have to take a look at the two that you have mentioned.

Boy does this ever sound familiar, doing it my way. Do you know how many things I've to rip stitches out of because I don't go buy the instructions. one can also learn new methods, when they are willing to explore.

Love your saddle bag, you did a wonderful job!!
If you don't mind me asking, what pattern did
you use? Making purses is one of my favorite
past times.

I actually saw a purse on the internet once that I liked, so I cut out a pattern of my own. There are only 4 basic pieces and it is lined as well. I'm so glad you like making purses, too! You can get pretty creative!
