request by mlbell.......I had a heck of a time finding translation of original language for Okinawa......couldn't find from, so used english....here's story----the original language of Okinawa is Uchinaguchi when Okinawa was known as Ryukyu in the 15th century.....then in 1879 Japan annexed it as Okinawa prefecture and gradually Japanese language filtered in......Uchinaguchi is becoming a lost language and culture as the young people do not want to learn it now.....Uchina means Okinawa....The words I ended up using on the ornament are "hello from Okinawa" in the male connotation........Vicki

These will stitch out as any applique will...you will need to use felt or organza or any material of your choice to stitch them out on......Vicki
