was petrofied!!! But it really did not hurt, my most uncomfortableness was that my legs hurt from something that has been going on for several weeks! I could not take my arthritus meds this morning and couldn't eat anything from midnight on. My surgery wasn't until after 1:00. Hahaha! Now I will have the other eye done in 2 weeks. Judy, I did this surgery on both eyes and was a cucesso. I did, 10 years with 45 years and was free of glasses. Do not worry, it will give Tudi right!
Do not stay too much, in front of the computer.

I had one eye done a year and a half ago. I, too, knew it was just routine and I'd had worse operations in the past. But someone cutting into my eye was not my idea of fun. However, I've had no trouble since. Hardest part was the no lifting for 6 weeks - before you know it you need that heavy saucepan from the lower shelf of a kitchen cupboard. Or have to move your sewing machine. lol

Glad you are OK! Hope the next one is not so scary now!

My best friend had both eyes (a week apart) done a few weeks ago. There was nothing to it. She can now see perfectly. It really is amazing what they can do these days. So pleased that all went well for you.

Thank God Judy for our wonderful doctors and nurses. Any surgery fills us with anxiety and I am so glad you are now on the road to recovery. I reckon as we all get older our backs give us "beans" so I am praying that your pain medication will get that under control. God bless you and take care. Love and blessings Chris

Judy I had mine done and when the last one was done I had eye lids up lifted because the left one drooped so bad it was interfearing eith my eye site when I woke up the next day I looked like I had been punched in the face. but was so happy that I could see so well when the swelling was gone .I wore glasses that were so thick the looked like the bottom of a coke bottle.now I only have to wear glases to read small print or fine sewing.

Great Gramsbear. Hubby has had several surgeries on his eyes...he is a special case but is so glad he can see much better. Has to have one more to correct astigmatism then he is done. He still will wear his glasses he says because he doesn't like his looks without...men, go figure. I have one worse than the other and had been going without glasses for most things since having the RK surgery for nearsightedness back in the 90's but now am back in glasses till the cataracts are corrected. Glad you are doing good except for the back. That will be my same problem.

My daughter, who has Downs Syndrone, had genetically induced cataracts, but had them
removed surgically six weeks between surgeries, a
few years ago. As she is mildly mentally handicapped, the doctor was waiting for me to help
decide for her, as when the surgery was actually necessary, rather than have him do it prematurely.
Over a period of two or three years, I watched for clues to indicate she was having more difficulty seeing, then finally told the doctor it was time. I will never ever forget after the cataracts were removed from the first eye, she enthusiastically stated, "Oh, mama, the colors are so pretty now!" I choked with tears, thinking I should have given the "go ahead" sooner. She had both eyes done, and all went well.
You will be so glad you can see in vivid colors once again! Having cataracts is kinda like viewing the world in black and white, I believe. Take care, and take a deep breath, now that you know what it is like, you can relax! You're half way back to good vision! Angel

Judy, praise the Lord that you are ok - do whatever they tell you to do and rest alot. I can't even get an eye exam without it being bad on me - you now when they blow that little bit of air into your eye - that freaks me right out - I can't imagine surgery and it not be awful. Glad things went well and don't do the next one too fast, either. Love!

Shirlene it does not hurt and no soreness they just put some drops in your eye and give you a IV when you wake up you will be suprised you can see so well.
hugs Lenamae

My eye doctor told me that I will have them too, surgeries are getting lot easier nowdays. When scheduling that day, you may ask your doctor, but they only want you 8 hours prior surgery with no food. That is what he told me last week. I asked him I just need to have a ultrasound of the liver because the test came abnormal, but I do not worry about cancer this time, I know it is going to be just fat, LOL. Hugs and get well soon.

Grams I have had cataracts off both my eyes & I do not consider it a next to nothing surgery. You need to try & get them to schedule early in the AM. So you don't have to go so long with nothing in your stomach. My back was what hurt me. I have a hard time lying on my back & that's what I had to do for ea. of mine. Just keep those drops going & I'm sure you will do fine./Lillian

Glad you are doing well. One word of caution. Make sure the eye you had done is okay before doing the next eye. My older brother had his done two weeks apart and told the surgeon his vision was a bit cloudy with the first eye at the time of the second eye surgery, the surgeon pooh poohed it as nothing. Come to find out he had blood clots in the optical nerve, and got them in the second eye also, and since is 95% blind. A freak thing, but make sure the first eye is doing well. When I have mine done I will put 4-6 months between surgeries.

I have had both eyes done. You will be so glad when it all over with. It is painless and takes no time at all, but nevertheless, we do get apprehensive. Everything is so much clearer, and I can even drive at night now. I, too, don't have to wear glasses now for my driver license.

A few years ago I had cataracts removed from both eyes...a week apart. I had no fear as I felt I was in good hands...God's and the doctor's,and all my cyber-friends sending good thoughts my way. Can't beat those odds!.
It was the first time in my driving career that I had a license with no glasses!
Be sure you put the eyedrops in when you should.
It will be wonderful to see colors the way they should be seen.
