Is there more to changing the density than just dragging the design larger or smaller? When I went to the Help it said the stitch density changed automatically. TIA Becky

Hi Becky, if I alter a design using my PE design there is quite a change in the numbe of stitches by the 100's not just 25-30. I will have a play whrn next using PE and let you know.

Well now we know. Truesizer will not adjust the stitch count proportionately. It may be because it is the free version. Thanks. Becky

I am using Designer Gallery and I just tested what would happen to a stitch count if I enlarged by 25%.
It changed from 4421 to 5702. Sorry I can't help with Truesizer

Thanks for testing for me. I will have to research other programs.

I also have the free version of Wilcom. So far I have only made designs a little smaller and it seems to be OK. I have also noticed that the stitch count hardly varies at all. Looks like we are all in the same boat!!! Sorry not to have been more help.

You were a help. Just knowing others are having the same issue means its not ME. Thanks for responding. Becky

The free version of Wilcom or Pulse Ambassador may not have all the bells and whistles contained in the paid versions. I have both of them but use them only for converting formats when needed. They are both expensive programs to purchase and the free versions are excellent for converting formats.

When I resize with my 'Design Shop Pro' software from Melco it completely adjusts everything and retains all the density, stitch length settings, etc. so the number of stitches is extensively changed either up or down.

I hope someone that uses Wilcom answers as I just checked and was not able to effectively resize either. I, too, am curious.

Do you have any other software that you can use for resizing?

I can resize in the Janome Software Customizer 10000 Plus but as far as I know it doesn't change stitch count at all so I use it sparingly to make very minor adjustments.

I hope you get someone who really understands how these programs work. I don't think they resize properly either. I get tangled messes on the back of the fabric I am working on when I downsize a design even less than a quarter of an inch most times. I use Wilcon Truesizer too. I wanted something I could get the hang of and test out before spending any money on an expenseive program. I'm not sure I want to spend the money now that I have had the experiences I've had. Good luck getting some good answers, as I'm sure if theirs someone who knows how these programs work they can tell us what we are doing incorrectly.

Yes I was careful to not change by more than 10% but just to see what the stitch count would I downsized about 50% and enlarged about 50% and the stitches only changed slightly. I could tell on the enlarging the density was very thin.

I'm glad you asked this. I was wondering about this also.
