I don't quite understand why a stabiliser for t shirts would not work for a sweatshirt as well. Or did you use it on top thinking it was water soluble? In that case you could try and cut around it as close as possible.
I once used cutaway stabiliser for FSL thinking it was vilene, did not notice until I soaked it. Now I always test it with a wet finger although the difference can be seen easily, but once bitten, twice shy.

I understand you used the wrong stablizer, but why is it ruined? Is the stablizer to rough or to heavy like a patch. Give your sweatshirt to the homeless or to a friend that wouldn't mind the wrong stablizer on it. Buy another white sweatshirt and start over with the right stablizer. Hugs I hope you find the right answer. Good luck.

Sorry to hear this. I thought a sweatshirt and T shirt were both knit fabrics. I do not understand the problem.......

Sorry about your booboo with the sweatshirt. I have done the same thing myself and been frustrated. One way that I saved one shirt was by doing another embroidery but as an applique patch over the area where I goofed up. I had unpicked the previous embroidery but did not like how the shirt came out for me. Good luck :)

I have done this too. I took my time and slowly cut away around the design. Just take your time and it will turn out ok. The design sure stays well. hugs. Helen

How are you sure you can't use it? Have you washed it - do you know it will not hold up?
