I promised before Christmas I would post a pix of my FSL bowl that I made, but just found out how to resize my pix and going to try it again. How you like what I did...it was to have stars on all panels but since this was for my son I made it with only 3 sides embroidered and bottom and let bobbin thread be same as bowl. It looked less feminine. He loved it. This was a free one from Kenny's Kreations.

Diane, it is beautiful, but you do realise, I am sure, you will get the FSL bug as many of us have after the first one. Helen

Yes, I found out at Christmas and still do it now, between other designs, but I have done crochet lace since I was 12 I think, so this is a big improvement and so much easier on the hands and fingers.

I really like that. Very pretty! My machine gets made a the outside edging on regular designs so FSL scares the heck out of me.

If you will use the fibrous wss and stitch it, you shouldn't have any major problems. I had a little trouble with the thin even with 3 layers so went with the fibrous and it works like a charm. It has a lot also to do with the way it is designed and digitized, this one was easy.

Diane, what a great job - it was very clever of you to not put the stars on all sides to change the look of this for your son. SUPER WORK!

Thanks, he used it for a New Year's Party and even the guys liked it. He asked me at Thanksgiving if I had seen them, yes, have you done one, NO, I'd like one of those. One of his friends greatgrannie had made him one that was hand crocheted. I think he liked his better.

This is pretty. Glad he likes it. If he didn't I would take it. "smile" Do you sew the panels all on the embroidery machine. I have the designs just never attempted to do one. Great Job on it. I love stars and collect them.

I just used a regular zig-zag stitch as it can't be too close. Wow, wish it was still free so you could make one..

knitty46 by knitty46 06 Apr 2011

I have collected bells and bowls(from cutie) I just need to do it. "smile"
I just didn't know if you sewed them together by hand or by a regular sewing machine. So many other projects are ITH.

quilter124 by quilter124 06 Apr 2011

I used the regular sewing machine to sew together. It was not as hard as I had heard it to be. I used the fibrous wss and only one layer. I have made many FSL things since this....try it...I will help you any way I can.

Thank you so much. I will diffently keep you in mind when I do one of my bowls or bells.
Hugs again.
