Again a Project Linus quilt. Lots of corduroy was donated and the county coordinator ask if I'd try to use it somehow. So I used redwork type bear designs on some of the squares. Because of the nap I thought it might give an interesting effect if I rotated the direction. It acutally turned out well. It was heavy and warm and might be appealing to boys. Mother had a very old hand made quilt that had corduroy in it so I thought why not try it. I got two quilts with backing out out the donated fabric.

How neat, great looking project. Never thought of using corduroy in embroidery project. Live and learn....Right? Flower for you

Thank you. I wouldn't have either. But is worked out. Had to be careful of the "walking" of the nap. As I told someone else they use it in my mother time so why not.

You are right - this added something tothe quilt. Was it any harder to embroider on corduroy?

Not really. I didn't use anything on the top and it worked out well. But it isn't a filled in design, red-work type stitching.
