This one includes Holland, although I will be doing Holland by itself per request as time permits....sorry it is taking me so long, but I have to investigate each one I do to see what the language is, then translate it then see what I can digitize minature for a theme......it is pretty time consuming.......plus I have my other stuff to do......so just be patient and I will do as many as I can........Vicki

Wow Vicki, Very impressive! My hat is off to you for sure! Great job on my Home Country. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent! Heel goed gedaan!
Vicki, just so you know, 'Holland' Is the same country as the Netherlands. The way I like to explain to folks is, that the name "Holland" is the Dutch word for "Netherlands", aka "Nederlanden". It simply means that the whole country is Below Sea-level. Hence, Hol-land or, Nether-lands/Neder-land. Hope this helps understanding it a little easier? I'm asked this question almost on a daily basis. So Vicki, good news is, that you don't have to do it again, You've done it already! Yeah!!! and Thank you again for all your hard work.. Trudy

What do you mean with: this includes Holland? You aren't thinking of doing two provinces (Noordholland and Zuiholland) separately, do you?

I don't know, Martine.....am getting confused.....someone asked for Holland and I noticed that Holland looks attached to the Netherlands...is that correct? I assumed this person wants Holland separate..........

mops by mops 24 Mar 2011

No, Holland is used by foreigners for the whole country, while it's only the 2 provinces next to the coast that bare that name. The capital, Amsterdam, the seat of government, the Hague, and the main port, Rotterdam, are in that area. But officially it is Kingdom of the Netherlands and people in other parts of the country don't like the term Holland - like calling a Scot English. And to confuse matters further, the eastern and southern parts of the Netherlands where there are more wooded areas is above sealevel, the none wooded west called Holland is below sealevel (and thus deserves the term 'Netherland' (or Low country) Hehehe!
But you don't have to do another one, that's for sure.

Hi Vicki, I know it is hard to do each one and get them correct. I would be happy to do the research for you and get it right. You just really can't do the entire world. We all appreciate your work. But, truly, you have your own work to do, and maybe even some things you just enjoy doing for pleasure :-) and stress relief. Are you beginning to miss fur? Hugs, Jan
