I know my designs very good (a friend of mine calls me her embroidery-guru *lol*) but I did it once at Emblibrary. The system don't give me a sign cause I took another size. Wasn't a real matter cause I had the design in a set and the single one was on sale.
Most of the time I even recognise when I have the same design even if it from another digitizer (some clipwork from clipartoon etc. you can see at every 3rd shop :o).
When I start with embroidery I bought a set at ebay and found it later as a free retired set from BunnyCup :o(

Count me in that number. I too have purchased a design twice. Does that mean I have tooooo many designs that I can't keep track of them all?

I have purchased the same design, different sizes.. AND I haven't used either of them yet! I "hate" (too strong of a word) when you get a freebie and it's in a set you would like to purchase...then you have it twice..I guess you haven't paid twice..but still
Glad to hear I am not alone!

If you made a double (or triple...) post you can click on the triangle with the red excalmatiom mark and ask Miss Veronika to delete the wrong ones ;o)
I bought once a set at ebay and found that later at BunnyCup at the retired sets (free for dl!). The seller never answered...

Doesn't that mean that you REALLY like the design?

Okay, Embroidery Library is constantly reminding me I already have a design.... I like that they do that! Very helpful.

Now that I have gone grey... is that technically considered blonde?

More and more it feels like it.

Almost Guilty. I went to buy a set of designs and it came back that I had already purchased that set previously. Lyn

I don't buy designs: I get only freebies and I have thousands. Yes I have downloaded many duplicates--especially if I renamed the design or I've put it in different category and don't remember where I put it.

I have some duplicates of free designs but don't think I have paid for duplicate designs. But can't be sure because I have thousands.

I'm guilty as charged, but I was lucky when I notified the site they gave me the option to pick another design and of course I had no problem with that. Now when ordering from sites that I frequent I always check their folder on my computer to see if I've already purchased that design or not...sure has helped me not to buy duplicates....lol. Guess when we buy duplicates that means we really like that design. Hugs to all.

I have done this twice. Bought the same set, not remembering I already had it. I am so glad some sites, like Embroidery Library, gives a pop up letting you know! That helps a bunch!!

Several sites actually do let you know if it is in your history. This is great. And, I have had a few sites that will replace it when they are notified that I bought the same set. It is hard to keep track if you do not keep things in files, but even then, you can "mess up" I try really hard not to do that, but it has happened to me a couple times.

That's why I store my designs now in a double way: In folders for the different topics and now I've made folders for that embroidery-pages where I buy/dl often like Cute, Emblibrary, Bunnycup, Juju, Sick, Urban Threads, DigiStitches, GG, LinniePinnie and so on ;o)

How about saving them and forgot where you put them so when you finally do some organizing find out your have about 2 or 3 sets of the same designs. You are not alone at all. I was going through all of my designs that I have in downloads and was putting them in their special spot and found out I either had it or didn't. I discover I had a kitty font and forgot about it. It is so cute.

I've been lucky so far. The only ones that I've done that have been on sale - cheap! But it does really make me feel even dumber than I normally do.

So far I haven't bought the same set. But now that I admit it I will goof up and do it. Hehehe! I almost did buy the same set. But Embroidery Library at check out had a sign that said you have already purchased this set. They also have a history of everything I have purchased from them. So I can go back at any time and download them again if I lose them. This in why I love the site. They back them up for me!!!

But not if you are stupid enough to buy another size :o(
That's what happened to me but it was just a single one and I use the happy hour and birthday-gifts so often so it is okay with me ;o)
I love that you can change the format of the designs in your history. Bought a brother (my janome was so lonely :-) and so I don't have to convert all designs: Just dl them with the one-click-option.
