Thank you for all these delightful states and countries - thanks so much for all your patience & creativity. I be a native Michigander and have only seen a Wolverine other than plastered all over Ann Arbor due to the fact they are the Univ. of Michigan's macsot - at the Detroit Zoo. They definitely are not as good-looking as the super hero. They are not a wolf but the largest land-dwelling species of the family Mustelidae (weasels). They are also known as the Skunk Bear. Not a big fan of wolverines and I can get away saying this because unlike most U of M fans who only go to school there in Ann Arbor -- I was BORN there -- on campus. To me, as a Michigander - we are the Great Lakes State and always will be.

You know the shape of Michigan looks like a wolf sitting on its haunches. Look at just the outline of the green. Did you plan that? A state made up of 2 peninsulas. It has one of the busiest canals in the world. The Sault Ste. Marie connecting Lake Superior with Lake Huron? Much of the nation's freshwater fish come from Michigan's many inland fisheries. Thank you

I didn't plan that, but a creative eye would notice......thanks for pointing that out....and again thank you for all the interesting facts on the states!!

A wolverine is shortlegged and low to the ground with a thick flattish body. They are very vicious and quite rare.

Thank you!!!! We'll just change the v to and f.....LOL

estherwaayenberg by estherwaayenberg 12 Mar 2011

Haha. It's still nice and will suggest you could put the state bird or flower if you are having difficulties deciding what animal to use.

I am from Michigan and I love your Michigan but as a wolverine, it is closer in resemblance to a badger than a wolf. Can you do it in a JEF format?

I figured as much.....but I have a badger state coming up so we'll see how I do with that......LOL!! Sorry, don't have jef in my formats, but you can download a free format converter off the internet... Pulse is the one I use when I need one

estherwaayenberg by estherwaayenberg 10 Apr 2011

I think I'll just leave off the animal and do the word. That will work.
