I make these hats for my husband (He picked out the fabrics actually). He is a welder/boiler maker. Welders wear them under their welding helmets. He is the envy at work now. For some reason the egg one (my purchase) turned out a bit too small...too much seam perhaps :/ So he told the guys at work and one is going to buy it today for $25 if it fits him :D I am on my way to Fabricland now to get more thread and interfacing so I can put the beak/visor part on the rest of them (note: only 2 in pic r finished). I have 6 more to finish then he got more fab to make 4 more on top of that...He wears them all the time too, even going out.

This is a great idea. I have done some welding in the past and it gets pretty darn hot under the helmet, I just used a bandana, but this is much better. Nice job!!

That is really SUPER an idea! Men had to carry a large problem if it the protective helmet for a long time! The scalp gets no air, sweats, and it wars with the time a bald head! that is not a joke!!! Thus who is to protect it if not we women?!? CONGRATULATION! Flowers for it

Thank you. Is his kinda like a bandana that ties at the back? This one DH ears with the beak at the back when he has his helmet on and then beak at the front all other times. *4U

Very clever, and now you may start a new thing at work for the welders.

YES!!! He did actually sell that one pink Easter egg one at work today for $25 and stated that the guys there are really getting interested at all the dif hats he wears all the time. One fellow requested "Don Cherry" fabric. Never saw it (don't really care for cherry either, sorry). My husband would like one with Homer Simpson on (don't like Simpsons either, what can I say). The wilder, the better with those guys :D

TY :) It is my own pattern.... well, sort of.. One of his old ones was falling apart (litterally) so I made up pattern pieces from it.

Very clever and could possibly be a money maker for you too. Keep up the good work. I also like your hubby's choice of fabrics. A flower for 4. Happy Easter!
