I just got my computer restored (thanks to my computer whiz husband) after a huge crash! Thankfully, all I lost were some e-mails and my e-mail address book. I've been seeing a lot of people complaining about viruses here lately. Maybe a bunch of us stepped in a hornets nest when we where getting our freebies. I'm going to be a more careful in the future.

Thank you! I am not very good with backing up but have now backed every thing up (last time was over a year ago)

I haven't been the best about backing up in the past, but when I spend a bit of money on designs, I'm sure to get a back up soon afterwards. I'm not as frightened of loosing the freebies.

Wow Nancy; so sorry you've lost things. The e-mails can be replaced, but it sure is a pain and drudgery to do so.
I, too, stress over losing files, and try to make CDs and DVDs of the files, in addition to having a back-up unit attached. Our son is the computer wizard in this house, so he works on all of our computers when he visits.
I have a new little computer helper here, who is presently batting at the cursor. It's a kitten who was a surprise gift from my son and daughter-in-law. She (the kitten) looks similar to their own cat, 'Pancakes' (they are both part Maine Coon cats). Going to the vet today to get her checkup.
Take care and stay well.
Hugs,
Jacqueline

You are right Jacqueline. It's a pain trying to get ahold of some people to ask for their email addresses again! Some I may not get back for a while!
Glad to hear about your new kitten. What a cute name! "Batting at the cuser" I bet that's funny to watch.

I find it very frustrating not knowing which designs are safe to download and which aren't...viruses or copyrights...confusing!

I had to restore my computer last month, and also lost tons of files. I thought I did a pretty good job of backing up, but when I got out the backup discs, they were dated Nov 2009. What a waste of time. I had bought so many things from that Delight place, and she can't (or just won't) send me duplicates.

So sorry you lost your designs. However, a hard lesson learned...deal with sites that can/will resend or allow you to download again the files you have purchased. Emblibrary is great place...they have a premanent record of your purchases going W A Y back.

I agree, and be sure to use multi types of backup and not just rely on one.
