I have not use glue gun in something I know it is going to be washed, it is good to know that there is a washable glue gun.
Not sure about glue guns but I do have the heat set tool for rinestones, etc. (there are heat-set versions of rinestones for the tool/iron) and I have washed them without any problems.
Like sewmom says use Aileen's Jewel Glue. Hot glue won't last long so therefore it's a waste of time.
I didn't think so, but I googled "washable hot glue", and several sites came up, so apparently there are some brands that are washable. I'd just try it on a sample.
Is this for jewels/rhinestones? I use Aileen's Jewel It glue and it holds very well in the wash.
She makes hook rugs--which need to be washed once-in-awhile. What she wondered was whether she could use hot glue to glue the back binding down. Thank you. H&*
Tried that one before and the glue turned white and did not stick anymore. So unless you have different glue the answer is no.
It is washable but it will not be for long. It would need to be washed in cold water and not put in the dryer but just the wear and tear of washing makes it self destruct very quickly. I understand there is a glue gun/wand type thing out now that makes stones stay longer, maybe permanant, but have not used a glue gun in several yrs. I have a stone missing off of a sweatshirt (center of flower) that has been gone for some time now. The shirt had many flowers on it and only missing 1 small stone but it was in an odd shape that I can not find a replacement for. I would have to replace all of the stones to make it look right. Not worth the trouble to me since I made it for myself. Meganne would be a good person to ask about that because I think I read a post over a year ago where she was talking about having or getting this new glue thingy for stones. Since it has been so long ago, I might be wrong about who posted the comment. It would not hurt to PM her and ask.
What would a small pretty button look like on your shirt? There are sooo many kinds of glue out there it is confusing. Thank you. H&*
I have had hot glue just pop off of things so I would think the washer and dryer would cause it to come apart. I'd use fabric glue instead on fabric, super glue on other things.
