I've just got a new PC with Windows 7 and I love it! It has some great features although there are a few annoying ones! Don't feel bad about asking a 12 year old for help - it is his generations technology and he is an expert. His self estemm will be sky high when he has sorted you out.

First question: did your husband transfer the data (f.e. the PE Program) to the new computer?
If not, just connect the two with an usb cable and grab all the files and stuff you need from your old one and run an installation.
Sorry if this is a stupid advice, maybe I've got the question wrong.
And have patience with yourself.
After one week of headache you will love the new system.
When I switched to Win7 I first created a file named "Eva", stored there all things needed and ignored all other pathes.
I created f.e. a subfolder "Programs" and run the installation from there.
Another subfolder is "Embroidery" for all the designs and so on.
Greetings

Did you use Vista or go from XP to Win 7? Vista was sooo unpopular -I figure Win 7 has to be heaps more accepted than that! Best of luck!

Hi Deb, download something, when you click 'save' READ the line to see where all the files are being saved to... Go there and you should find all those files you have already downloaded. OR do a search for the file you have just downloaded and you should find the folder they are in, make a shortcut on your desktop to that folder!
Good Luck

Give yourself some time with your new windows, you will soon find your way and love the new speed.
It is a little diff but the kids know everything because they are not shy to click and see what happens. We are a little timid in case we make a mistake. Try to relax and click.
It took me a while to work my laptop mouse, that funny flat pad, now I can and don,t always have to plug a normal type mouse in.
Wish you lots of fun.

the folder icon is the one I have circled. for your other programs they should be under all programs in the start up menu.
hope this helps.

set your internet browser to download things to your download folder, you will find a little folder file on the bottom task bar of windows 7 click it and it will bring up all of your folders and you will see your download folder there.
good luck I love windows 7. especially after the disaster that was vista. I will try to get back with some screen shots.

Thank u for your help. My 12 yr. old grandson, is going to try and come into town for the weekend and help me. Sad that a 12yr has to show me how to use my computer, but he loves helping nana and I love having him.
