Applique is really quite fun to do. You may want to go the www.emblibrary.com and look at the video tutorial prior to trying one. Usually you will have a die line that stitches, this gives you the placement of the fabric.Once the area is stitched, you trim the excess fabric close to the stitches, and then proceed with the embroidery. Most sites will have a printable sheet so that you can see exactly how the design is done. Good stiches to you.

No one in particular. I just was wondering how it's done. I know long ago, when my children were young I would iron things on their clothes and zig-zag around them which is the same effect. I see so many cute appliques and was wondering how it was done.

Wonderful, now the embroidery machine will do it for you. Try something simple at first, you will love it!!!
