problem, my machine is always afraid I abandon him. When I'm embroidering and leave the machine alone, he always gets angry and starts a problem with the thread or bobbin, he just wants me to stay!

Personally I don't know which is worse the machine or the husband. If I am not at the machine he says :I don't here that machine. I know I am hooked but I sort of think he is too. HA

Really ladies, our machines are no different to us, are they? We all like to feel that someone that loves us is close by, and there to give us a helping hand when needed. Now does that make our machines human, or does it make us machines! Hugs and flowers to our machines!!!

Man, I sooooo glad to know it was not Suebee (my machine)I have names for all three of my machines. My kenmore machine is kristy, I have had her for over 20 years. and my surger is Maybell is a 28 years old, and on her last leg. Maybell is takeing a real long good rest , before starting working on our daughters wedding. Kristy, i do all my other sewing on . and Suebee is just for my emboridery and she's the baby, got her last Sept. I love them all dearly. and hate to think what my live would be without them. (boring)
sometimes in the morning the sewroom looks a little massy, and I know I did not leave it that way, I know the girls have been having a party again.

brendaleas, what a joy you are. You let me have a very good laugh. Have you thought about staying up and joining the girls for the party? Hugs and flowers for all.

I never leave the room while my machine is running. They know!!!! Even my cat comes in to sit with me. The dog just comes in to find me and goes back out but ,but the cat wants my attention. I hear some brave soles actually perform house hold chores, while embroidering. One look at my house and one knows that I have other passions!!!!!

Gerry, here I thought I was the only one with this problem, and look at everyone else. I have a Janome, & she wants my love & attention constantly, too. The point of getting an embroidery-only machine was so I could embroider & sew at the same time. Oh, HAH! If I even *think* about starting to sew those quilt strips together, she reads my mind & starts a thread nest, or breaks thread, or gets the bobbin fouled up. If I sit there like a good 'machine mommy' and watch her sew & send proud & loving thoughts, then nothing happens! And they say this model doesn't have a 'sensor system', oh, ha ha ha ha for that! Well, it's fun to watch the design take shape, and I've learned a lot about digitizing from just watching sew-outs. Thanks for sharing, friends. Marji

Marji, I would love to learn to digitize. Never thought how stitching out the designs would help teach me. You are such a great teacher. Hugs and flowers.

interesting........ I thought MY machine was the only one that does this!! well my Designer1 does say 'sensor system' but it never occured to me that this could be sensing the owner closeby....lol. our machines do have an interesting personality don't they?! btw mine always breaks the thread if I dare move more than one meter away....... can be veeeery frustrating with those big dense designs! flowers for you and really thanks for bringing this up!

This is such a relief! I thought I was the only one with a machine that demanded all of my attention. I'm so happy to know that I am not alone.

I am so glad to know that this is a problem shared by other machines. I have decided that mine wants all of my attention . I can turn to my left to sew on my sewing machine and it knows. If I roll (in my rolling chair )back and forth it helps. ( but can make me dizzy) HA HA Ha ( as I'm am not allready ) Here are flowers for all

And I thought my machine was the only jealous one. I can't leave the room, sew on my sewing machine, serge on the serger, or even work on the computer, without my machine acting out. I am so glad to know that I'm not alone. It's funny - I was just talking to someone last week about this and she said her machine was the same. Must be a universal problem. Perhaps someone will research and figure all of it out for us.
