I think some of us are confused as to "an A4 piece of paper". Just exactly what is it, and how you use it? Thanks.

A4 paper is european paper size.
279.4 mm is the length of a 'Letter' sized paper. For A4 the length is 297 mm

Could you explain a bit more what you are doing?

Getting things centered or straight can be an issue - I love guide lines that I can go by.

I try to line up the hoop with the grid of my Patchwork cutting board. Seems to work, but I still have not perfected the 'endless border'.
