I know this is an embroidery sight, but do any of you have recommendations for a serge machine?

If you email me privately.....I will send you a PM with my email address...I can perhaps help you. I have taught serger lessons for about 15 years. I have lots of experience with many machines.I have 8 sergers myself.

I have a Husgvarna 910 - and it is seldom used. But, I do not due much sewing. This is one machine that has intimdated me from day one. I saw a BabyLock, and probably would get something like that if I were to do again. Anything that will self-thread is a bonus.

I have a Husqvarna 936 little spendy but it does everything you can think of. I like it. Up to 5 threads that can be used.

I also have the 936 and love what it can do...but it does have a learning curve when threading and changing over to cover and chain stitches.

Hi Susan,
I have a Singer Ultralock Serger...you can choose to use either 3 or 4 threads at a time...works great, I love it.

My neighbor just got a Babylock for Xmas that threads itself. I would look for ease of threading. If anyone has one would you describe how the Babylock is for maintaining correct tension? Threading & tension, both super important.

I've owned three sergers and my favorite is the Baby Lock (4 thread) It is costly but in the long run it is well worth it.

I have had a Huskylock 560 ED T and It is 18 years old... It is in need of replacement just because it is a real pain to thread and if one thread breaks you have to rethread the whole thing... ughhhhhhhhhhh, but other than that it is a real work horse..

I own a Baby Lock Imagine. Love it, love it. The feature I absolutely love is the ease of threading. Thread shoots via air through all the places it needs to go. That feature stops it from being a dust collector in the closet.

I have a Brother 1034 serger(four threads) and it has performed well for me. I bought it from Walmart online for approx. $200-$250. As my embroidery machine is a Brother, I favor that brand.

I have a babylock evolution. (I had a berninas for 30 years) and I just got the newest one outfrom babylock. What a difference between the old one and the new one. Go for one that has at least 4 thread and is easy to thread. My old one you had to thread a certain way or it didn't work. The new one can thread any old which way and it works perfectly. Go for a good name brand and you won't be sorry. hope that helps Suzanne
